I needed an emergency appointment on a Saturday. Dr M waited at his office for me and was the most compassionate doctor I’ve ever visited.

I visited Dr.Mandelkorn for my VA exams after ending my military contract in august 11. No other place would see me other than his office and I drove all the way from Miami, FL. He was a prior VA doctor and knows what to look for to best assist in finding things wrong with you and I came to him originally for my keratoconus diagnosis while I was serving. I had multiple pink eyes over my contract and they kept giving me allergy medicines which further caused damage etc, and nothing would work over many doctors from Japan all the way back to Virginia. He was super determined during my 5 hour exam and found out by accident when I read him my prescriptions that I had psoriasis on my leg and he said BINGO! Turns out the psoriasis being a auto immune disease caused my eye lids to be super irritated red looking like pink eye but it was actually the psoriasis attacking my eye lids and he was able to give me enough info to take back to the university of Miami eye institute which helped a lot! I recommend him 110% and sadly there aren’t any reviews to show that so that’s why I took my time writing this one. He never skipped a minute asking if I was okay during all the exams and how I was feeling etc and after a 2 hour and 45 minute drive he helped me the proper help I required!

I first met him in the ER with symptoms of a torn retina. He did through examination and recommended a specialist to repair. I followed his advice and owe my vision to his care and advice. I now follow up with regular office visits for eye exam. He explains everything he finds and level of concern and what to be on the lookout for. I feel that my eye care is in very good hands with Dr. Mandelkorn. If there is no one waiting, he will often chat about related and interesting topics. He is in no hurry to get me out the door. Its like going to a highly skilled country doctor one hears about but never really expects to meet. He is the real deal. Highly recommend

Dr. Mandelkorn is the best eye doctor that I have ever met in my lifetime. He is extremely careful in evaluating his patients and even double checks his data before making conclusions. He is very friendly and cares about each of his patients. He takes his time with each patient like the "old school" doctors. He does all of the testing and evaluation himself in the office. He is truly an expert in his field.
