Ive had sciatic nerve pain for the past 10 years with it becoming excruciating in the past year. I finally had the right combination of insurance coverage time and pain to get back to seek help getting it fixed.I started the process in January of the year of Covid and 7 months later I FINALLY got to my appointment for an epidural injection. I was very excited. The day before my appt I got a call from Dr Acostas office to tell me I still hadnt been approved by my insurance. I called my insurance who told me there was no request for treatment. I tried calling Dr Acostas office and got no call back. I left several messages all the way up to my appointment time and finally just went in and paid cash. I never did get a call back.Im still going to my other pain doctor and paying cash there because Dr Acosta didnt want to transfer my medications or even discuss changing my regimen to something hes more comfortable with.Im 2 weeks since the injection and have had zero change in the pain level. This was really a waste of time and energy to be in the same exact position I was in 7 months ago.The nurse who assisted with the injection was fantastic. I forget his name but I was very impressed by his knowledge of the procedure and bedside manner.
I found the office staff to be friendly and helpful. Dr. Acosta has been able to reduce my pain but I continue to require injections as the relief is temporary. I would recommend Dr Acosta for pain relief.
Received third epidural injection from Dr. Agosta. Never inquired effectiveness of previous attempts nor explained why this shot would or could be more effective. Never said a word. Previous injections had limited relief with short duration. Overbooked. If his methods were not working a discussion of alternatives would have been helpful. My sciatica my problem. Go fish.
Hands down the best pm doctor I have been a patient for many years and Fr. Acosta has always done whatever he can to help me. Great Doctor and great staff
I have taken my Mom to Dr Acosta for years now. They are very caring about her condition and her age. Always polite and gentle. Thank you to the staff that works there also.
Dr. Acosta is a miracle worker for my debilitating pain. He has walked to the end of the earth to find what procedures will help decrease my pain to give me a chance at a functioning life. He is extremely knowledgeable and actually cares about patients unlike so many other doctors. I highly recommend Dr. Acosta he treats patients with kindness and compassion. It can take some time to get an appt but its definitely worth the wait.
I would NEVER go back to this office because of the extremely rude and incompetent office staff The whole front office needs a lesson in compassion and consideration. Their display of ignorance and poor attitude is appalling. As for the Doctor I feel Dr. Martinez is a better choice But I highly suggest you seek a different office because of the staff.
I have been Dr Acostas patient for ten years and as far as I am concerned he is a Miracle worker. As I have problems with my spine and with his giving me Radio Frequency it takes my pain level from 8 to 2... and I can walk and move. The procedure is long lasting. Sincerely Deborah Fritsche
Great Doctor He always knows what he is talking about and makes me feel comfortable. He is not quick to over prescribe which is great And he actually takes time with you so he can come to a good conclusion of what treatment will be
I am still new to this area under 2 years I moved to northern florida from Ohio was nervous about starting over finding a new doc since I had been to same one in ohio for many years I was extremely lucky in finding a wonderful pain doc in Middleburg fl Dr Khanna. She was an angel. But unfortunately after only 6 months there I relocated again more south to swfl. Once again I found myself having to find a doctor. Not only is good docs hard to come by but I have heard witnessed how florida has been impacted by the pill mills that used to be everywhere I did some research was referred to Dr Acosta. My first appt he spent time with me going over all my history meds seemed to truly care how my pain was controlled. However it is extremely hard to get appts the billing department always bills incorrectly to my insurance its a huge headache Also 8 times out of 10 I have to see a nurse practitioner instead of dr Acosta. This can be frustrating. Some of the staff are very rude. I mean I work in the medical field so I can understand the stress esp in pain medicine practices But one of the NP I had to see 1 month was the only doc I have ever seen in my life that made me feel like a piece of crap for being a pain pt. I have made it extremely clear I will not see her again Vanessa dr acostas NP at the sanctuary location is very sweet caring Overall dr Acosta is a good doc. Whenever I see him I am satisfied with his bedside manner care I receive. But some of the rude staff billing errors the incredibly hard time getting appts is a letdown.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
