List of Richard Hood's Reviews
By far the worst physician I have EVER encountered. Should definitely NOT be treating people with pain. No compassion AT ALL! Rude and Obnoxious but seemed to delight in telling me I should just ignore my ongoing pain and that I was just drug seeking. As a healthcare provider myself a total waste of my time and such an embarrassment to our profession.
Revised:Dr Hood is a bad medical doctor. Informed about bone spurs, and the surgeons office stated I don’t have it, and referred to see a neurologist. However, the office staff are not organized. And had the following issue. I cannot tolerate nerve blockage due issues with cortisol. I had requested an appointment with him twice to talk to him for referral to a neurosurgeon. The office staff switched my appointment twice to see the PA, and the last appointment after I arrived, the PA didn’t even know the reason for the appointment, and prescribed medication for pain when that was not the reason of the appointment. I was frustrated due the I spent money, gas and time for that. And after that, they sent me a certified letter to fire me as a patient. I know for fact is their business, not a medical office. And I really don’t mind about the letter, because I had requested a neurosurgeon, and maybe they didn’t liked my decision for it. There are some medical conditions that require surgery and not their office treatment. Be careful when you are looking for pain management physician. Those doctors are money hungry and do whatever to take it from you, when their treatment is not the solution. At least they should send the referral to the neurosurgeon for consultation and they don’t even have empathy and compassion to do it. I am still waiting for the neurosurgeon phone call for the appointment, but they just care about the money and not the customer. Beware of these pain management offices, the way they work looks like scamming patients.
This office doesn’t listen to your needs. We are dealing with chronic diarrhea from pain medicine and they prescribe more medicine that causes severe diarrhea. If you don’t fit their cookie cutter methods there’s no help for you.
Dr Hood and all the staff are amazing people. They are very professional & caring. The doctors really listen & they do their best to accommodate.
Accepts new patients but can pick and choose which one he see's? Yikes sounds like discrimination to me.
Long term Pain Medicine. Pleasant, professional. Always good at explaining procedures. 99% success with epidural back injections. Very pleased with him.
Only pain mgn. office the first time visit you walk out worse than you went in for your visit with Dr. Hood best find a real Dr. that knows what he is doing I can't even rate this so called Dr.
I was a patient of Dr. Hood’s for almost two years. If you had asked me to review before my last few appointments with him, I would have given a great review. I went back to him in October 2021, I could not get out of bed, was hunched over and leaning. He just wanted to do epidural shots, I had to BEG for an MRI, once I received the MRI, he said it was completely normal and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my back. He refused to refer me back to my neurosurgeon. After getting more than one opinion, turns out my disc’s collapsed and I had to have a bilateral fusion, which you could see on the MRI. I will not be returning to his office, had he taken the time to actually read my MRI, I would have avoided months of pain,
Sad when a doctor simply doesn't have a clue, has built in unsubstantiated prejudices, and evidently has no clue what it feels like to be in severe, complex, multifaceted chronic pain.
Dr. Hood is a good listener and he understands his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
