Couldn't have asked for a better experiance!! Staff from the receptionist to the nursing staff start to finish were amazing!!
I hope all goes well for surgery, but the receptionist in the front is so rude. She needs training in how to speak with people.
Using the same surgeon, I was forced to use Gladiolus Surgery Center for a 2nd time. They clearly continue to do business this way as seen from these reviews. I had 2 separate surgeries in a 2-year period. Both surgeries having issues with Gladiolus billing. First surgery was a cash negotiated price with the surgeon and instead of collecting the 1000 dollar negotiated price they found my insurance information based off a previous surgery ignoring the negotiated price. They never asked or saw my insurance card 1 time. They did not say a word I later find out they billed my insurance 7800 dollars. I caught it 2 weeks later logging into my insurance website and seeing the outrageous statement. At this point when I called angry Gladiolus realized what they had done they quickly billed me and added additional time so the 1-hour 1000 quickly jumped to 1200. They are extremely hard to get on the phone and to get anyone to call you back unless they are billing you. They said they would correct the billing to my insurance. It took over 4 months to correct the billing to my insurance. They collected my payment long before this. The 2nd issue came with using my wife's new insurance for a lessor corrective surgery from the same doctor. The Surgery was also for 1 hour or less. Never mentioning anything though my Dr scheduled surgery Gladiolus decided on the day I was walking in for surgery they would not accept the secondary insurance even though the 2nd insurance would cover the surgery. My insurance agent and the secondary insurance company was on the phone stating they would cover the procedure and gave the max benefit number to them. With the assistant manager there they would not accept it. Tempted to cancel the surgery my wife was able to come back and bring me a Credit Card. At this point surgery was late. The manager at Gladiolus asks me how much I would like to run my credit card. The assistant manager whom I was dealing with has since resigned and moved on from this place. They charged on my card 1500 of what would now be a 3100 dollar charge they were giving me. Now remember just 11 months prior on the 1st longer surgery Gladiolus only charged 1000 later billing me another 200 when I caught them using my old insurance without asking or seeing my card. So, 11 months later they billed my 1st insurance 13,590 this would leave me out of pocket for 3100. 6 months later they just billed me instead of 1600 another 2350. So, with the 2nd insurance only covering at 934 I’m out of pocket over 2900 for a 45 mins surgery. The place needs renovations and the billing staff is awful. I feel most of these places already for a fight. They do not work without, and they take whatever they can. If your doctor or anyone suggests this place do not do it. Do your own research and read these reviews. I was so stupid to ever expect them to change and even more dumb for going through with the surgery that day. I am not the only one.
My wife had knee surgery and experienced some nausea post operation. She requested some crackers and ginger ale but was told none available due to budget cuts. I suggest bring your own.
I had surgery here yesterday for my Achilles tendon. I was treated so well. I have high expectations at a medical facility and they exceeded them. The receptionists were friendly and had my paperwork all ready. The nurses were attentive. They were running a little behind, which is completely understandable—-that is medicine, I was updated about the wait and felt attended to.Yes, I was in a room with others with plenty of curtains. They need to do this so as to be efficient in monitoring all the patients. I felt very comfortable knowing the anesthesiologist was in the center of the room and available if any problems arose. He was amazing with my nerve block, too. The pre op nurse was professional but also very warm and comforting. She let me know what to expect and I felt at ease. The operating room staff were amazing. I am overweight and was worried about intubation but they explained the process, very professional.Post op the nurse was amazing. I was nauseous so she gave me a medication and explained how she was helping me.Overall I think it was the fact that I didn’t feel like just another surgery patient, I felt like they really cared about me and that goes such a long way!One last thing, this place was impeccably clean.
Probably the worst medical facility in Florida.I had surgery scheduled for June 17th, 2020, Cancelled onJune 16th because they forgot to inform me I needed a Covid 19 test72 hours before surgery. Surgery rescheduled for July 1st.Covid 19 test done on June 28th at their request. On June 30thsurgery cancelled til further notice ! No Valid reason...Just excuses !!!
The nursing staff was adequate but the facility was inadequate - zero privacy and sorely dated. I had a similar procedure done at Gulf Coast Hospital and they were far superior in all respects Also, watch the billing closely as they invoiced me for the services my insurance carrier rejected. It wasn't until I questioned the invoice that they admitted to the "oversight". They also rushed me through the COVID testing process by informing me two days before my surgery that a test was required - I ended up paying three times more through their required facility than I would have paid otherwise. Overall, an expensive, personally annoying and well below average experience.
Not up to my standards. I started out with 2 different staff reception ladies, the time frame wasn’t bad. After the business was finished up I had a small wait until I was taken back. Surgery prep went smooth until my ID bracelet was in the way for my IV. My bracelet was removed. My anesthesiologist introduced himself and I reminded him of my missing ID bracelet. I met my surgery nurse and waited. I did get a new ID bracelet before I was wheeled into the surgery room. This all happened with open curtains and patients and nurses all moving around me. Very publicly and I witnessed patients coming out of surgery still asleep. Once in the surgery room I met another nurse and a couple of assistances. The room seemed very full and cluttered. I never saw my surgery Dr or Anesthesiologist. I went to sleep. I woke up without my ID bracelet on again! Upon waking up I was back to the prep room in a different spot - with again another different person. After waking up and getting dressed, my husband was brought to me and we then talked with my Doctor. All in all , The colonoscopy was completed. I did not respect the experience and would not go back for another surgery of any type. The personnel were all friendly, but it felt more like a factory and no regard for privacy during a surgical procedure.
Great place for Doctor appointmented surgery. Good staff, knowledgeable anesthesia service!
Very professional staff at Gladiolus Surgery Center. Everything was on time. I was made aware of everything that was going to be done every step of the way. I felt very comfortable. Dr Blitz was on time and very efficient and took the time to explained all that was involved. They also made a follow up call the next day to check on the outcome and how I was doing

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
