Excellent care
During a recent hospitalizations, caring and compassionate
Very good physician, kind and compassionate
I was hospitalized at a hospital in albany ny where Dr. austin was a resident. I was seriously ill with pyelonephritis and was transferred from emergency department to in patient status. Unfortunately my medication routine was not properly noted. Every few hours I would experience excruciating joint pains etc that had been easily controlled with ibuprofen. Dr. Austin was resident on duty and called about 3 am because my pain was so bad and I had shaking chills. I told him all I wanted was ibuprofen because that was very effective for my symptoms. He insisted I take morphine which I refused. He looked me straight in the eye, told me to lay there and suffer and turned around and left. I insisted the nurse call the administrator on duty and she got me ibuprofen within an hour which alleviated my suffering. Next day they did get my drug orders straightened out and all I needed was ibuprofen. I was about 70 yrs old at the time. This doctor is dangerous. He tried to push me into opioids and refused to do anything when I declined them and has no compassion and does not listen to the patient. . He is a danger to society in my opinion.

Compassionate doctor, helped me and my family during our time in ICU
Extremely kind and caring. Always takes the time to explain the plan carefully!
I was an in patient he was called upon as a resident for pain relief medicine. Ibuprofen had worked well but he insisted I take morphine. I declined the opioid and requested ibuprofen. He told me to lay there and suffer and left the room. Took me 3 hours to get someone else to order the ibuprofen. Heartless and obviously thinks he knows better than the patient.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
