List of Coast Dental's Reviews
If I could give negative stars then I would. My first experience going to Coast dental was pretty horrible. Nakida , the front desk person was rude to me and to the people she was talking to on the phone. She hung up on a customer and acted so aggravated and annoyed that she had to do her job. Constantly whining, huffing and puffing, and rolling her eyes. Not a good look for the face of a business. If I were the owner of this place, I would get my front desk in line before she runs eveyone off with her piss poor customer service and attitude. Secondly, as someone who has RECENTLY worked in dentistry, I know exactly what is going on and how to properly take care of my teeth and gums. I have also had two separate perio chartings done in the last 6 months due to switching providers for insurance reasons. Both chartings, by two seperate hygienists showed I was a regular prophy. With that being said, I have never been told that I am anything more than a regular prophylaxis cleaning. All of my prior perio charting done in my life time have always shown numbers 1-3mm and one MAYBE two bleeding points MAX. Your dental hygienist lied to my face and said my whole mouth was bleeding which was not true. I questioned how my perio charting done 3 months ago and 6 months ago showed otherwise, or how I never see bleeding when I'm floss DAILY if what she was saying is true. Afterwards, the telehealth dentist was called and was put on speaker and even she said we should proceed with a prophylaxis... interesting. I decided to leave immediately and not get a cleaning done because it was very obvious I was being scammed. I know that dental hygienist make a commission on their total production, but I don't appreciate the lying and up selling services that are unnecessary. I imagine she does this mutiple times a day to people who don't know any better, and just trust their healthcare professionals expertise…which is just sick. I wish I would have read your 1.5 star reviews before wasting my time with this joke of a company .
Drive an hour away for my daughters appointment, and when we got there the lady who was on her cell phone said we don’t take your insurance. I asked her, why didn’t they call us the day before. She said we don’t do that… seriously was a waste of our time.
Don't even try going here. I had only gone here because this was the only offer with my insurance. The first time, they me to give them a good review. They had canceled multiple appointments because the internet was out. Once they called me to say that there was an open appointment that afternoon, and only 2 hours later, they called me saying my insurance wouldn't cover it. Now, they are trying to charge me an appointment with a telehealth that never happened and my insurance won't cover it. How do you see a dentist over a screen? Just horrible management.
Very friendly people and professional as well.
Great team, very friendly staff.
This dental office has called me to cancel my appt less than 1 hr prior to the appointment, twice
I am a first-time patient of Coast Dental, I moved here from a different state, and after using one dentist's office my entire life I found myself needing a general cleaning. I live about 30 minutes away from this office but, scheduled my appointments at this location due to the office in my city being booked up for many months in advance. The first exam will just be a general exam and x-rays, so if you are a first-time patient like myself be prepared to come back another day for the cleaning. My first appointment went somewhat smoothly, the hygienist and dental assistant were both very nice and tried their best to keep everything running smoothly as there was no doctor in that location, you only spoke to one virtually and they reviewed the charts and X-rays. I spent a good amount of time waiting for the hygienist after my X-rays were completed due to technology issues and a patient before me giving them a hard time. I don't have dental insurance so I paid out of pocket for everything, it was about $350 for the X-rays and exam for my first visit. On my next visit a few days later for my prophy cleaning it was roughly $160 for the cleaning plus another $70 for the concentrated fluoride varnish. Overall I was happy with my visit here, however, I definitely recommend having dental insurance. My only complaints are the price of the services which are on the higher side, and the fact my original cleaning appointment the day after my new patient exam was cancelled 20 minutes before. I also wish they didn't try to sell me overpriced toothpaste and mouthwash, as well as an expensive “oral cancer screening”. Which was part of my “recommended treatment plan” for a 23-year-old in good health who has never even had a cavity.
Worst business I’ve ever dealt with. I walked in for an appointment that was scheduled on the phone, and they had no clue I was supposed to be there for that appointment. They rescheduled me for a later date, but when I came that day, they were just as confused. Blamed it on the “call center” even though I booked this appointment in person. Finally got in the third time for my cleaning. They told me in person and on the phone that my insurance covered the cleaning (which it should), but I got charges that weren’t covered by insurance such as a “gum examination” that was literally them looking at my gums for 10 seconds, saying they were good, and charging 50 bucks. The office lady was also really confused, and I had to wait an hour for her to figure out the insurance. I finally ended up just paying the 50 bucks for the unnecessary gum examination and was told everything else was covered. I got a bill anyways a couple weeks later. I went there twice and was told they’d figure it out. The bill is only growing due to late fees, and it never got resolved after two months after repeatedly being told it would. The link I got texted to pay for the bill leads to a website with no other options besides entering a credit card - not even an email or phone number listed for billing assistance. Whenever I call the office, nobody picks up. It tells me to leave a voicemail, but the voicemail box is full.
I made an appointment online a few months ago for a new patient exam/cleaning. After being confirmed, paperwork filled out, etc. it was canceled the day prior. When I asked why it was canceled they said it was due to short staffing. I gave it a try again, making another new patient appointment for it to be confirmed and paperwork filled out. Showed up this morning to the office (an hour from my house) for the front desk to tell me they don't have a doctor in. I told them that was fine I only needed a cleaning and then they told me I couldn't get that either because the hygienist was booked up. I asked "Then why am I here?" and was told to just get x-rays. Since I don't need x-rays I left. This is unacceptable and I will not be scheduling here again.
Geart experience at this dental office.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
