The psych Unit of Citrus Hospital is not good. I have a family member admitted there at the female wing and they don't have hot water, the TV is broken and the food is really bad. Honestly I am very disappointed in the way people with mental health problems are treated in the hospitals. is like they don't deserve to be treated with dignity. They deserve better .
This place is horrible, they take blood without consent, they don't care with you eat or shower , and they could care less about your mental health, the people there are just waiting for their next pay check, parents always end up calling the cops to take their children out early but there's nothing they can do about it, the beds are uncomfortable and I was put next to a girl who tried to kill her mom (I was in there for self harm) it's impossible to sleep , they need the hallway lights on all night , they treat you like a piece of shit , and I'll always remember what the doctor said to me "boys don't like girls with scars " fuck you and fuck your comments I was 12 so I couldn't say anything before but now I can so fuck you for ruining my childhood go to hell
Screw this place they told my medicare that they do therapy they had me waiting 2 hours to see someone i even did paperwork to then have a counselor ask me some questions about my life and at the end tell me they aren't doing therapy at the moment moral of the story is why couldn't you tell my health insurance this over the dam phone that y they are not doing therapy at the moment they wasted my time gas and their time also
Thank you for providing good quality service to our community. Forever grateful for the care my husband has recieved.
my wheelchair using disabled son was not given the help he needed when he was baker acted two years ago there, when we dropped him off we thought he would get help and in less than eight hours at 3 am they got rid of him and transfered him to larkins hospital because they did not want to deal with a child with a wheelchair they are very lucky that at that time we were sent into a hellish frenzy to work thru all the trouble that they caused sending him to another hospital that did not help our child either and we took him home because of the terrible service but citrus would have been shut down if we went ahead with charging them with neglect and ADA violations, sadly for anyone else that goes there has to fend for themselves if something similar happens to them because we could not find the time to work on exposing this place to the problems that my son saw and documented and we must put all of our time and work for our son, i wish anybody that is there good luck or get yourself out of there if you can, thank you for any Citrus employee who reads this you should be deeply ashamed of yourself and dont try to defend your position because nobody will beleive you, the only people you help in that place is yourself
I hate this place with my entire life, I was baker acted here in October 13, 2022, and remained 63 hours in this mental facility combined with a prison, I felt so traumatized being here, with the uncomfortable beds, the staff were mid (howard however was the only respectable staff member), the food was ass, and me and my friend Steven were harassed here by a lgbt emo girl, I cried every time i would see my mom because now i think she'll think horrible of me and i'll know that she'll have to leave so i was crying in my cell, so parents dont bring your child here.
Negative stars if I could. What a horrible place. Strictly a set up to baker act everyone and twist their stories up. disgusting and disrespectful staff throughout the whole complex. I am a veteran and still in shock how they disregarded why I was there and turned it into a situation it wasn't. Also what kind of people take blood and urine samples from the common area where patients eat and drink? This place is the hell on earth. I advise everyone to run away as quick as possible. They need to be sued and shut down by the state as soon as possible! They don't care about anything but more money. My heart goes out to everyone in there currently. This place needs to be under investigation!
This staff is terrible. The secretary Jennifer and the clerk Rosaline they somehow think they're doctors and that because they've answered a few questions that somehow they know how a patient is doing. Why would I ask for the health of a loved to a secretary? Doesn't she just pick up the phone & file away papers? This place is garbage. Waited in an EMPTY waiting area for over an hour to speak with two counselors or honestly I don't even know their credentials. There was a hialeah police officer just chatting away with the very unhelpful duo in the front desk. No one showed an ounce of care, of sympathy. None whatsoever. No wonder this place has the worst reviews. It's unfortunate that they were the nearest place and I didn't have the luxury to drive a little further but if ever I were to need a facility like this again this would be the last place I'd come. The staff, the location, the parking lot everything is just GARBAGE. Honestly, I wish I didn't even have to give it a single star because they aren't even worthy of that. Stay away from this place. Take your loved one anywhere else but here. UNPROFESSIONAL staff!!!! And please teach your secretaries that they aren't doctors. You need a degree for that. A job answering the telephone does not constitute to being a doctor.
PROS: *Doctors seem to genuinely care about their patients. *If you do not have medical insurance they will provide free or majorly discounted treatment and discounted medications at their in-house pharmacy. *They take walk-in patients on short notice if you need to see someone right away. You may have a long wait time if you didn't have an appointment but, I think that's to be expected. *They have liaisons to assist you with applying for SSDI, Medicare, and other benefits. CONS: *The parking situation is usually a nightmare. *You cannot contact your doctor or their assistant directly. You must go through the appointment department and they are not always efficient or polite. And, sometimes they are awesome. Unfortunately, it is hit or miss with them. You must stay on top of the situation. One of my personal experiences with Citrus after contacting an unprofessional law firm for help with my SSDI case: I went to Citrus Health Network, a local community healthcare/mental health clinic and met with Lauren, their Social Security Liaison. Within a few months she helped me to get approved for SSDI and Medicare. I received three years' worth of back benefits very quickly. I had my first of many needed surgeries shortly after that and it was fully covered by Medicare. Lauren accomplished what I couldn't, working around the clock for three years, in just a few months. She was so pleasant and easy to work with. She answered and returned calls either immediately or close to it every time. She stayed right on top of everything on both my end and with Social Security. She is a true Angel. All of her time and service was completely free of charge. YES, FREE! I kept 100% of all three years of back pay. She was always professional and caring. If you are in need of benefits please check with your local community clinics to find out if they have a benefits liaison before contacting lawyers. She saved me so much time and money. I did not have to give a third of my money to someone (a lawyer) who only cared about making money and not my health. I am forever grateful to Lauren and Citrus.
A place where they evolutionize those that are weak minded into an indestrucrible force of nature be warned only the strong survive

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
