List of Shagen Abovyan's Reviews
Very incompetent! I’ve never seen anything like this before in my life, what a waste of time!
Poor service and advise. Not recommended.
Run... very creepy Dr. Abovyan. I took my child to the Fort Lauderdale location on Atlantic. Abovyan kept asking(about 4x in our 10 minute exam) about my 10 year old girls genitals. I was there for a yearly skin check. When he did looked at her it was the arms and that is it. He did not use any special lights or magnifying glasses to view her moles. He was only wearing over the counter reading glasses. It seemed like he had dementia based on repeating the questions about her genitals. Very old doctor (late 70's) and unprofessional. He made my child and I very uncomfortable.

I have never been treated so poorly by office staff. I was a patient of Dr. Colemans for 15 years and never had any issues. Apparently if you need a prescription refill you need to see the doctor every 3 months. This is not required by the state of Florida because I work for a doctor, this is their policy only, Their new policies are not given to you until you have an issue. The problem is that I work full time Monday thru Friday and this office is only open a few hours a week. You can see the PA but if you want to see the Doctor, forget it because he works during the middle of day so its impossible to get there unless I take a vacation. I have requested my file and will look for another Doctor immediately.
Went to Dr Shagen Abovyan as a follow up appointment was told to come back in 3 months that if the problem didnt go away there would be other things he could do he charged me 50 dollars and told me i would have to find another docter or live with the problem (very unhappy) he couldnt even give my another docters name was told to look it up on the internet then was told he was done.what a waste of my time and money! Will Never go back or send any one else there
Dr Abovyan is great!
Prior to go going into his office I had over a year with bad doctors and just stuck with them doing every test in the world getting second opinions from other doctors and it was a complete nightmare. He actually listened to me and was very knowledgeable about everything and in my third month with him it's safe to say that he's a keeper! He was also always very sweet and so was his staff.
DR ABOVYAN IS KNOWN TO ME FOR MANY YEAR,COURTEOUS,PATIENT,HE IS A DOCTOR YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS. MAKES YOU FEEL CONFORTABLE, GET THE JOB DONE AND MOST OF ALL DONT EVER WORRY ABOUT MONEY. HE WILL TREAT YOU FOR FREE. HE IS A BLESSING.
In performing a routine biopsy, he left a huge wound on my foot, and I was unable to walk for a week. Had a biopsy three weeks earlier, he wanted his own. No bedside manner at all. No discussion of his diagnosis, just went to do it. Will not even go back to him for follow-up.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
