Alan Herline's Online Review Report Card

My son saw Dr Herline today at the hospital. He spoke with me prior to the procedure and called me after. He has great bed side manners. I thank God that he's the one that took care of my son.

I have a very complicated case of diverticulitis with a fistula. I met with Dr Herline while I was in the hospital and we discussed my options. He was very compassionate, answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. I went to his office yesterday for an appointment and his staff is incredible! My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday and I'm confident that I'm in good hands and he'll be able to repair my problem and get me better. A BIG thank you to Dr Herline and his staff!

Meeting Dr. Herline for the 1st time; faced with the fear of Rectal cancer. He was kind, gentle, reassuring, took the time (and patience) to include my husband via phone in the conversation. He made sure that we both understood the “no need to fear” realty of his findings and tbh, his entire demeanor was so impressive, I’d recommend him 100%. Passing grade on all levels. How wonderful to have met him.

I went to Dr. Herline at a very volunerable time in my entire life. Dr. Herline and his entire office staff were amazing from the start of my cancer journey to the very end. He is the most professional and caring surgeon I have ever met. Because covid restrictions are still in place Dr. Herline didn't allow that to stop him. He was very hands on during this process and was in contact with my family walking them through ever step of the process ensuring them that even though they couldn't be with me pre/post surgery he would keep them informed of how I was doing. He really cares about his patients and may I add he's an amazing surgeon. Because of covid restrictions family couldn't be in the hospital with me, so I kinda felt alone during this process but Dr. Herline made sure I was okay. Most surgeons your just a $ sign to them but Dr. Herline genuinely has a kind heart. Pre/post surgery he checked on me to ensure I was doing great. His entire office staff was just as caring, I'm having chemo brain right now I can't think of all the ladies names 😅 but everyone of them were awesome, they were very sweet and loving. I can go on and on about Dr. Herline and his office team and it still wouldn't be enough. So I'm going to end this by saying Thank you Dr. Herline and his entire office staff for your encouraging words and professionalism during my journey, it meant the world to me and I truly appreciate you all.

Dr Lao is a truly angel on this world 🌎 she goes above and beyond for her patients , I never meet such a human being thank you dr Lao for everything you do for your patients

I have been a believer in using Health Grades to find top doctors and hospitals for about 5 years now. I had a stricture from a previous surgery that after numerous treatments to open, had to be removed. On two previous colon resections I was in the hospital 5 to 7 days. When Dr. Herline explained I would be hospitalized for only 2 to 3 days and would recover at home I could hardly believe him. Dr. Herline and his staff were exemplary, they explained everything to me and scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks later. The surgery was on Wednesday morning, I went home on Friday afternoon. Dr. Herline and his staff visited me in my room multple times each day to manage my progress. That in conjuction with the outstanding nursing care I receved from Memorial West hospital continues to make me a believer in using Health Grades to find the best doctors and hospitals. I rely on my wife a registered nurse of 47 years in the selection process. She was totally impressed with Dr. Herline as well.

It was fast, pleasant. and comfortable, the staff are great and very professional. I was scared do to other complications in my life but the doctor and staff made sure that I was relaxed and well taking care off.

Dr. Alan Herline is an excellent doctor. He provided an outstanding service and attention to my mom. I recommend him as a doctor and exceptional professional.
