Dr. Ballestas is an excellent physician. She is very empathetic towards her patients and families. Her kindness and compassion is visible in her bedside manner.

She attribute my son's anemia problem to GI issue and send us back to the GI Dr. that refer us there because there was not enough evidence of a GI issue. After further investigation with a UM Hematologist they discover other conditions contributing to shortage of red blood cells. Next time will avoid Joe DiMaggio a go straight to Univ. of Miami (UM) Doctors. Joe DiMaggio will do the minimum to keep you coming and will make you an appointment just to tell you the lab work is ok....It is all about the money billing for visit. UM is very different and far superior on treating their patience. They will call you an explain lab result event when there are issues and then you decide to when to follow up with a visit.
