This is not a review of Dr Molina’s medical skills, but rather a particular diagnostic issue. When he saw me for a GI condition, he also diagnosed me as “obesity, moderate”. I saw this subsequently in the medical records he wrote. The reality is that my BMI is 31.0, which is the very low end of mild obesity. (In contrast, the moderate obesity that he diagnosed me with is a BMI from 35 - 40). It’s a shame how he just saw an overweight person and generalized like that - making me much larger than I am and insulting me in the process. I would advise the good doctor to be a little more sensitive and thorough. If you are going to categorize obesity into ranges, then please calculate the BMI first. Don’t assume and clump all of us overweight patients together. These kind of fat biases and fat shaming make it more difficult for overweight and obese patients to want to see doctors.(btw Remi T is a nickname - so please don’t make the excuse that you can’t find me in your records).
