Having surgery is serious decision and a journey one would take serious as an option. I felt like a number instead of a patient. She is nice but disconnected. There is no human side of the interaction. She just does her job. That’s it and that’s sad. This is my experience. Remember my experience is not another person experience. I do not feel that I was given enough information about the procedure. I had a hysterectomy done and although the surgery went well, I was disappointed in many ways. Initially, prior to the surgery I asked lots of questions that arise from watching videos. It is my understanding now the surgeons don’t always provide certain information unless you ask. For example i listen to a young woman on youtube saying ask if your cervix will be removed as most surgeons don’t provide that information. So that was one of my questions and my answer was, ‘ that’s apart of the planned procedure.’ I don’t like that you don’t hear from the doctor or staff like nurse as a follow up to see how you’re doing after the surgery. I did not not even hear from this doctor after the pathology report was posted. The only time after surgery that you see or hear anything was at the 6 weeks post up appointment.

Although somewhat uncomfortable, I went ahead and had the surgery done. ***My experience - no follow up call to see how I was doing after the surgery, not even by a nurse. I was in pain at one point that was unmanageable and couldn’t understand why not 1 single follow up call even after the pathology report was done. I understand that these doctors are busy. Please make time for your patients, they are paying you thousands of dollars.

Dr. Carrubba thoroughly explained my options before surgery and followed my post-up recovery very carefully. Despite several unforeseen complications, Dr. Carrubba consulted with other physicians to ensure that each specialist team properly addressed my needs.

Dr. Carubba was wonderful! I presented with multiple, serious issues and she was kind and compassionate throughout my entire situation. She was thorough and went above and beyond. Surgery was less invasive than previous doctors had suggested and she has checked up on me throughout recovery time. I would suggest her to anyone!

I’ve only gone and had my first consultation, not even had the surgery yet and I’m already impressed! For the first time in 8 years, she actually sat and listened to my symptoms, understood them and came up with a REAL treatment plan keeping my long term goals in mind. I’ve never had a doctor spend more than 5 minutes in an exam room with me, and she spent 45! I am very grateful to have been pointed in Dr.Carrubba’s direction. Very hopeful for what her treatment has to offer.
