Don't go! I was treated like a number and not a patient and now I'm on medication for a dvt and pulmonary embolism due to neglect.Update: 4 years later and still experiencing pain in my leg from dvt and shortness of breath from the pulmonary embolism it caused.
O won’t recommend Dr Acholuno. Wait for one hour in the waiting room, later 2 hours in the room with you legs open. No darling
My experience with this doctor is lack of compassion. He always overbooked appointments and will have you sitting for hours in the lobby and examining room. He seems more about money than the care and welfare of the patients. He is well educated in the medical profession but after being loyal to this doctor for 10 years, that one time experience during my Mother’s terminal illness disgusted me to the core. I was 6 mos pregnant, over age 35, high risk with HBP. I mentioned to Dr. Acholonu about my Mom cancer diagnosis during previous appointment and the stress of seeing about her and working was too much on me. This man, I stress man because at that moment he was no longer in a professional position, says to me: “Didn’t you already know she was dying?” The assistant in the room with him gasped the same time I did. I couldn’t believe he said that to me!! After that visit, I changed my OB immediately that same day. Didn’t care about how far along I was. I was determined not to step foot back into his office again. This is my first time giving this review and I wish I’d done this 11 years ago. Hope this helps in your decision to choosing the best OBGYN.
I had to see Dr. Acholonu for the surgical removal of an IUD after my in office removal became too complicated ( IUD was partially embedded in scar tissue) He was very rough in his placement of the speculum. He kept advising changes to my BC but wouldn't listen that I was changing specifically to manage my symptoms of PCOS (managed with a different doctor). Didn't inform me before or after the procedure as to what he would be doing. And I had to wait AT LEAST one hour past my appointment time for every appointment with him. I will never be seeing him again.
HORRIBLE . I’ve been going here for a few months , apparently nobody can find the problem , just more prescriptions and nothing that helps . Every time I call they proceed to tell me that gale is busy and my test results are not back , which got sent off almost 3 weeks ago . they do not treat you like you are important at all & I would NEVER recommend for anybody to go here . as I’m online searching for a new obgyn at this second
Dr. Acholonu was the on call OB when I delivered my son due to my OB being out due to his daughter's death. He was extremely rude and insensitive. Not knowing that I was a high risk patient nor that I was the patient that he would be providing services for, he stated that I "did need to be making all that noises because I wasn't making that noise" when I was "getting pregnant". He said this as I was being wheeled into the L&D section of St. Vincent. Needless to say, I was extremely upset and even more upset when he came in the room to deliver my son. After my son was delivered, he looked at me and asked if I wanted to have any more children, especially if I was going to "carry on". Needless to say, my father who also worked at the hospital had to ask him to leave my room. His bedside manners are horrible!
Verbally abusive during childbirth. He was condescending, manipulative, and abusive to my wife during her most vulnerable moments.
The worst doctor i have ever went to. He knew nothing he was talking about and left me unknown on different things that were going on with me and my child.
He takes times to listen to his patients which is why appts are delayed at times...have patience people. Awesome dr and staff.
I love him and Gail Respanti he delivered both my kids 2017&2019 both of them are very supportive they’re always a call away both show how much they care for you and always want the best for you and the baby you’d even get a good laugh from time to time i love that he is straight forward he doesn’t sugarcoat anything gives you pros and cons of certain situations 5 star doctors

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
