This doctor was rude, would not let me finish a sentence, yeld at me for my cholesterol being 12 points above normal. My EKG was abnormal and I had to question him about that. He offered no explanation, no instructions,no concerns. Just told me I was being scheduled for a test.

My husband is a patient. They never answer messages, return calls or respond to portal messages. Very disappointed.

Truly the worst bedside manner I have encountered in my life. Our impression of him was equally matched by his reputation among the staff.

Seemed to be very busy. He did evaluate my data entries, but seemed to be in a rush. My Systolic pressure is above 120, however my diastolic runs below 80 and pulse rate within 60. He first said my meds where adequate then anted to increase Metoprolol, but this med reduces more my heart rate and pulse, I don't want my heart to lower its rate with more meds. My mission is to reduce my meds with diet exercise and alternative to lower systolic not lower diastolic and puldse. He didn't explain seemed to be in a hurry to get to next patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schimmel's for about 4 years. He is a member of First Coast Cardiovascular Institute in Jacksonville, Fl. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Schimmel was very diligent in his assessment and exam. I found him to be and he asked many pertinent questions. I have recommended him to another family member and she has already made an appointment.

We were not impressed at all with Dr Schimmel's lack of compassion & attentiveness. My husband had open heart surgery & we met with him for a follow up appt prior to meeting with the surgeon. He asked my husband how he was, & seemed not at all interested in hearing his/our answers. I'm puzzled as to why he bothered asking. It was more about clicking away at the computer & moving on to the next patient. Major surgery, emotional journey. Dr. lacked ability to provide empathetic, quality care.

Excetional doctor. If you have a heart problem you will not find a more qualified or caringdoctor. I and my whole family trust my heart care to Dr .Schimmel and no other doctor. He takes time with you and tells you exactly what he is doing and why. If you ask a question he answers in terms you understand .
