List of Alfredo Quinones Hinojosa's Reviews
excellent doctor who cares about his patients . It was my luck that the head of Neurology department of OP Medical Center found a mass in my brain but referred me to be treated by Dr. Q. at Mayo Clinic . Dr. Q not only excels in his medical skills but also in the ways he treats and cares for each of his patients . He took the time to talk to me and inquire about my family . I am not the only person ...
Beware of the hype...beware of the hype.
I had surgery with Dr. Q last year and I cannot imagine having had it done with anything else. His technical skills are second to none, and almost as importantly, so is his bedside manner- not always the case in neurosurgeons. He takes time to answer all questions, and always made me feel at ease. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Dr. Quinones is an excellent surgeon but there was virtually no "team" after care for my family member. His "team" as far as we could tell, consisted of one associate newly arrived in this country. We saw Dr. Quinones once after the surgery, never again. Pathology was never explained to us. Dr. Quinones has a very narrow focus: in our case, he performed the surgery and then moved on. We saw absolutely no leadership or coordination within his so-called team.
Hello, my name is Dina Ordonez, I’m originally from Guatemala but I’ve live in Florida for almost 30 years, but I’m here not to talk about me, is to talk about my niece’s son, he was born under the influence of Zika, and sadly he was born with microcefalia, it was devastating for the family to found out about, now he is 18 months old and it hasn’t been easy for anyone in the family specially for mom and my sister witch is his grandmother. We need help, at least to know if is there any hope, I don’t know if Dr Q can read this message, I hope so. If the can get help from the Dr Q, then since I live in Naples Florida we’re are close from Jacksonville and I can provide them with living espencers, Thanks Dina Ordoñez
I agree that Dr. Quinones over-estimates the post-surgery outcome. He told us that he expected a "favorable outcome" for my son and two months after surgery he was in hospice.. Dr. Quinones did an excellent surgery but the follow-up from Dr. Q and his team was very poor. We saw him once after the surgery and were then shifted over to an associate. No conferences with us about pathology results, genetic testing, etc. Very poor. Not what I expected.
While Dr. Quinones may be accommodating, he does tendency of over promising the post surgery outcome.
My husband and I were lucky enough to meet Dr. Quinones and become his patient. My husband has brain cancer. Thanks to Dr. Q and his team, he is doing wonderfully. Dr. Q is one of the most caring, comforting and brilliant doctors that we ever have met. His team is very professional, they always follow up with phone calls, appointments, and everyone stays on top of everything. You could say Dr. Q wrote the book on brain tumors, because he did and I trust him completely with my husbands care. I thank God every day that we were able to become part of his family at Johns Hopkins. I would recommend him to everyone!
Our 28 year old son recently had his 3rd brain surgery with Dr Quinones. Our son is now undergoing 6 weeks of radiation but before the radiation started he was evaluated by a radiologist who is on staff with 11 other doctors at St Joseph's Hospital here at home in Atlanta GA. All 12 doctors expressed their amazement that in the recent surgery no damage was done to the Corpus Callosum(the tumor was next to it) which would have disabled our son and been very serious. Full brain function was preserved. They are also amazed that our son shows no neurological deficits. People simply don't even suspect that our son has had brain surgery. Dr Quinones and his team and all the Johns Hopkins care givers are all exemplary people. We just can't imagine ever needing to use any other hospital. The last thing we'd like to say is that the only emotion that matches the fear my wife and I experienced when we learned our son had a brain tumor is the confidence that Dr Quinones and his staff have instilled in us to help offset the raw, gnawing ongoing fear for our son's health. My wife and I cannot sufficiently express the degree of our appreciation and thankfulness for the medical care our son has received at Johns Hopkins, but we can say that if the need arises again, we will return to Johns Hopkins without hesitation and thank God such an institution exists. We knew Johns Hopkins was a top rated hospital, but they have far exceeded our expectations.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
