List of Andy Abril's Reviews
One of the worst doctors I have ever seen. Saw him early in my illness and all he did was squeeze my hands and say no auto immune stuff here, you are fine. I wasn’t fine and collapsed 2 weeks later with heart problems and kidney issues. Apparently I have some sort of connective tissue disease. He didn’t even care to investigate for 5 mins why a previous athlete completely fell apart in the span of 4 months. If i could rate him zero I would, he doesn’t deserve to practice medicine.
Traveled to Mayo Jacksonville to get an innovative view of arthritis condition only to have medical staff prescribe hot wax and discuss meds ! No mention was made of diet or controlling inflammatory food or liquid intake despite some patient prompting. The late Dr. Robert Stroud had better advice on this correlation 20 years ago! After this disappointing visit, insurance provider Florida Blue urged participation with a program promoting a keto-type diet plan which prohibited many of the inflammatory intakes that these professionals and Mayo should be discussing, and the arthritis symptoms greatly improved. There is more to autoimmune disease than simply noting it, throwing drugs or surgery at it, and moving on to the next patient and Mayo can do better than this! To a large degree, we are what we eat! A more holistic or "big picture" approach is definitely needed here and Mayo should excel in this, as their GI department did a few years ago with another family member !
Saw this fool many years ago and he misdiagnosed me, told me the worst I had was fibromyalgia. I had to see a Rheumatologist in NYC to get a proper diagnosis. This man needs to have his license taken away, he has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. After my appointment with him I requested to see the director of Rheumatology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl where I saw this Dr to let them know I was misdiagnosed and needed to see a different Rheumatologist and I was told no and was banned from Mayo Clinic indefinitely because I disagreed with the wrong diagnosis given by Dr. Andy Abril. Mayo Clinic stands behind this incompetent Dr, which makes them just as bad as he is.
One of the worst doctors I have ever gone in my life ( and I have been to many). Waste of time and money. He basically said to me what the neurologist have told me previously but in Spanish. He was trying to sell me this Pain Rehabilitation clinic. He did not read my history (14 years of pain) and did not write down any symptom I told him I was having. He end up the appointment giving me a folder for fibromyalgia. No clear closure or explanation AT ALL. People tend to be biased because a doctor is part of the Mayo Clinic, thus, they have to be good. WELL HE ISNT. I would prefer to no see a doctor than to have to see him ever again. 1 star because google won’t let me post it with 0.. he deserves NONE. He is not caring for his patients at all.
He figured out what was wrong with me after 2 years of MD to MD dealing with symtoms I didn't understand were connected. I saw him for many years and we tinkered with things and dealt with symtoms. He was always wonderful and understanding. I am now in remission, and he is my hero :)
I am sure Dr. Abril's credentials are good, but I did not have a positive experience with him today. I have had a trusted rheumatologist for many years in a small town who shows a lot more savvy and listening skills, and I trust him. Dr. Abril did not go over my labs or offer any helpful information. My visit was a complete waste of time, and I would definitely not return.
Very thorough evaluation on initial visit. Listened and answered questions clearly without rushing. Prompt follow-up to my call to review test findings and discuss treatment
I wasted two years seeing Dr. Abril because I thought, it’s the Mayo Clinic, this is the best place to be. He never seemed to listen to what I was saying and he dismissed many of my symptoms so that my illness would fit into the diagnosis he kept saying I had. I felt like he thought I was just making it up or being dramatic. After two years, I thought a second opinion and I was diagnosed almost immediately. He thought I was just making it up or being dramatic. After two years, I sought a second opinion and I was diagnosed almost immediately. I don’t know how he is still at the mayo clinic.
THE WORST EVER. rate 0 . Did not look at ANY of the other MD's reports and biased the whole visit. He is a TOTAL WASTE. If you have real problems GO SOMEWHERE else. HE is a narcist who thinks HE knows everything....20 yr later! He MISSED IT BAD!
Rude and arrogant.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
