Dr Harris treated me in the Trauma Unit after a bad fall, requiring surgery to my right humerus. Surgery was scheduled, but this doctor wanted to be sure Labs were more positive before proceeding, although he could've gone ahead. It meant waiting 2 days on IV antibiotics. I liked his professional manner about this. He kept me and my family in the loop about everything before and during treatment and surgery! I would highly recommend him! Thanks so much to his team.
He looked over all my information and actually heard everything I said. He took his time and made sure I understood everything he was telling me. He also helped with my anxiety issues by cracking jokes and making me laugh. I feel he is a very attentive doctor that really cares about his patients and what is best for them. I would recommend him to anyone that has a need for a trauma orthopedic.
I was not a patient of Dr. Harris, but worked alongside him for several years. He is an excellent surgeon, integral, professional and truly shows care and compassion for his patients. He uses the highest standards when it comes to sterility and if I ever needed a procedure, I would not hesitate if it was him. He’s an excellent choice for your orthopedic needs.
My ankle was crushed in a car accident. Dr. Harris put it back together like a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Recently got an X-ray and the results show my ankle is still in remarkable shape. I have a little arthritis which was expected.
My husband & I were in an horrific head on crash, with a fatality. I was taken to Memorial Hospital ER & my doctors have told me I died & was revived several times. Dr Harris was on call at the ER and he operated on me. He drilled into my ankle & leg bones a metal external fixator on one ankle, & left the other broken ankle to heal in place. He did a hip replacement. I had an 120 days of hospitalization, at no time, including when (supposedly) he removed the fixator nor when his office staff released me did he ever talk to me. I spent 2 weeks at Brooks Rehab & after I was released home & given the green light to start walking, the bones in my fixator ankle crushed, shifted & I ended up at St Vicent’s for 2 “screws” being placed in my ankle. November 2022 it will be 2 years ago, after much PT, neuromuscular massage therapy, I have finally been able to get out of my wheelchair in the last 3 months. Based on my lack of care & treatment, I would never recommend Dr Harris to any one!
My experience with Dr. Harris and his practice has been great thus far!!!. I got a referral for him when i broke my arm. I was able to get an appointment the same day. He did an assessment of my arm and my case and booked my surgery for the very next day. His team was so nice and professional!! From the receptionist to the x-ray tech. They made me so comfortable and explained my injury and surgery to me so i understood. My follow up is in a few days.
Dr. Harris is probably one of the only two surgeons in Jacksonville that was qualified to pull off my surgery, which he did brilliantly. I highly recommend Dr. Harris!
Dr. Harris was orthopedic surgeon they use at Memorial Hospital. I came in with a broken ball joint in my hip. I have CP, haven’t bent my legs in 30 something years repeated myself multiple times while meeting with Dr Harris. While in surgery he bend my knee broke my femur Couldn’t complete surgery on hip did a Girdlestone procedure then on my femur that he broke he cannot put a rod and it said it would heal on its own five months later after going to another hospital on another issue they x-rayed it and said it is still broken actually a spiral fracture 5 months later is still broken and is not healing. He doesn’t listen to you when you speak to him because if they would’ve listened prior to the surgery it wouldn’t of had this outcome and now I’m arguing with him over a brace for his knee that the doctor put on at the hospital telling me that the hospital was responsible for it not him. Would not use him ,you’ll never be normal again.
My fractured pelvis (life threatening) was obviously unexpected and I was transferred to Memorial in Jacksonville. I had never heard of Dr. Harris but I’m glad he was the one to operate on me. His PA- Ms. Brace, was very informative and patient with all the preop questions. After the surgery he called my wife and gave her a full update on how the procedure went and what to expect. I am still in the process of healing and have been to his office twice. I have met with Dr. Harris post operatively and he was thorough with expectations, plan of care, pain relief and when I may return to work. Don’t let the other reviews concern you - he is a trauma surgeon in a busy trauma hospital and with clinic hours. I have received the care I needed to get me back to my normal self. His office staff is nice and have completed forms for my work and facilitated appointments that worked with my schedule and theirs. Dr. Harris’s seems like a nice guy and has proved his ability as a surgeon.
The doctor never came to see the me but sent a student to see my fracture. My wife could tell that he was a student by the color of the scrubs he wore and the name badge flipped as she is a healthcare worker in the same facility. I requested for the doctor to check on the fracture but, he never showed up and sent a PA who just put a bandage and billed my insurance company $ 1839. I was totally disappointed .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
