Dr Rivera is hands down the best doctor I have ever been to. He has every characteristic someone would want in a doctor. Kind, intelligent, compassionate…he takes his time and makes sure to answer all your questions. He doesn’t treat you like just another patient he has to see for the day.

Saw him after getting abnormal lab results from my primary doctor. He went over all my diagnostics and basically told me maybe it's leukemia. Had me due another pile of expensive lab tests and I came back for a follow up. My lab numbers still showed Leukocytosis and his response was, "well, I don't think it's leukemia, I think this is just a normal range for you. Come back in six months and we will check again." really? I literally started crying in his office because I was so frustrated and I was hoping for better answers than that. I've been dealing with Leukocytosis for a while and I feel horrible and that's the best answer you can give me? I reached out to him via the patient portal and his nurse called me and apologized for the way that he made me feel. Never again will I return to him. He downplayed my entire health struggle. I'm currently seeing new doctors trying to get things figured out. Just because your a mayo doctor does not mean you know better than me. I live in this body and I know when something is not right. Very disappointed.

Dr. Rivera is the best. I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma and 18 years later I am doing so well. He walked me through the process and he encouraged all along the way. I cannot speak highly enough about my life saving doctor, Dr. Rivera.

Excellent experience with Dr. Rivera, exceptionally knowledgable in the field of Hematology. He was the only one to correctly diagnosed my rare blood platelet disorder - D 69.1. He listens to his patients, views your complete medical history, does extensive testing to ensure an accurate diagnosis.

When I first went to Dr. Rivera 14 years ago my doctors were stumped as to what was wrong with me. After 3 hours into a 30 minute appointment he told me what was wrong. He did days of tasers to confirm it. He is fantastic!!

Dr. Rivera was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is my last ditch effort to find out what is going on with my health. He could tell I was nervous and made sure that he was very patient with me. I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. He also went through ALL 101 pages of my medical records with me. I have seen many, many doctors and he is by far one of my favorites. I highly recommend him to anyone. This is the type of doctor you want in any field.

Dr Rivera is extremely professional and compassionate. He has an excellent bedside manner and he is a great listener. I was very impressed with him. Prior to my appointment we discussed my case over the phone and he sent me articles to review to discuss various treatment options and plan. Not only was he prepared for the appointment but he gave me additional information to assist with anticipated questions/concerns. I am confident I will receive the highest level of care under his watch. Thank you so much!

Dr. Rivera is a wonderful and compassionate physician who I am glad to have had during my treatment for head and neck cancer in 2008. He carefully followed my progress and provided excellent care throughout my treatment at the Mayo. I would gladly recommend this doctor to anyone. George
