"Success is terrible teacher."
Dr West was easy to talk too and ask questions about my condition and operation. I needed paperwork for leave of absence from work it was completed very promptly.
He was wonderful! Explained my husband’s medical issue completely. Answered all of our questions. Treated us as valued friends. Thanks so much!!
After having a bad surgery 3 months ago. Dr. West corrected the problem after my surgery yesterday I feel so much better. Thank you Dr. West for turning a bad situation into a hopeful one. 🙏🏽 I still have a long way to go but I finally feel like it will get better ❤️
Twenty years ago I had issues with kidney stones. The issues and solutions were highly unpleasant. Lately I was again diagnosed with large kidney stones and this time was referred to Dr. West. He is informative, comprehensive, highly skilled, and supportive. Issues were minimized and chosen solution was highly effective and simplified. I would highly recommend his expertise and care for kidney stone sufferers.
Go elsewhere. The Doctor is nice enough but his staff is completely lacking. I had a procedure cancelled twice the day before it was supposed to be done. The first time because they hadn't gotten things handled with the insurance company. The second because they forgot to tell me when they rescheduled to stop taking aspirin. I work out of town. Plane flights for this twice.
Dr West treated me for bladder cancer. He was patronizing, resented questions and generally non empathetic to the pain and discomfort caused by this type of a problem. In April of 2021 he gave me an all clear on the cancer despite profuse bleeding and high pain levels. I requested a change of urologist within the the McGiver group…my request went unanswered. In August UF Health diagnosed return of the cancer that had grown large enough to block flow from one of my kidneys. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Dr West nor The McGiver group
Highly credentialed physician with impressive resume. Procedure ended with significant complications. West appeared lost and unsure what action to take. Appeared nervous that he was about to have a malpractice case, ordered unnecessary test: defensive medicine I got to pay for, imo. He missed important test findings. Poor review of patient health record. Made comments that were highly alarming, wrong and inappropriate (never seen a physician do this - shocking- seriously needs to be in sensitivity training). MCIVER clearly has no peer review process and is in desperate need of one. Seems like a nice, young practitioner that needs to concentrate on a case load no larger than he can accommodate with the highest lebel of excellence and precision. West current approaches and attitudes are a formula for disaster. This event was among the worst, most traumatic experiences of my life.
Dr West is one of the finest doctors I have ever had. He takes his time and is very kind and patient.
Explanation clear and Excellent

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
