List of Vasant Jayasankar's Reviews
Hopefully his Pensacola patients see this. He’s a terrible human being and doctor. Save yourselves.
visit went very good, he gave me time to explain my worries and answered all my questions . He gave me a postive feeling regarding my condition, and not to worry,,,let him do my worrying for me ! Has arranged for a follow up in 12 months.
Apparently he doesn’t practice in Jax anymore and is in Pensacola. Probably because he had such a bad reputation in Jax. DONT LET DR. JAY TOUCH YOU. FIND SECOND OPINION.
Always in a rush and not willing to do surgery. Delayed three times. My father ended up passing away while awaiting a second opinion. Quite ridiculous. Take control over your own life and find someone who will be proactive with your care and value your life. Other doctors (other CT surgeons included) were baffled he hadn’t operated yet each time they would see my dad.

Always felt rushed and delayed surgery three times in the span of 2 months before finally cancelling it. Dr. Jay will take only conservative cases. He’s not willing to risk his reputation. Other doctors were baffled he kept putting off the operation. My dad just passed away while we waited another surgeon to take his case.
He’s a idiot, had went to him for a second opinion from one of his original Colleagues(witch I didn’t know that he was a former colleague)he should have recluse himself as soon as I said the other surgeons name.Clean infected hardware out of my sternum that caused my sternum to snap.He and his PA Mike stood over me and said that I didn’t need any antibiotics that everyone has staff and to a point that is true but not down in the bottom of a 3 centimeter deep hole ?? in the middle of my chest where he took the infected hardware from. Then he argued with my wife (a RN/BSN of 15 years) and the infectious disease doctor and said that I didn’t need any antibiotics.Mind you green puss coming out of that hole ?? daily.Even gave him a second opportunity and did another clean out of my chest and he still argued that I didn’t need any antibiotics well I went home with a pic line and now diagnose with osteomyelitis. So no don’t trust this idiot couldn’t even tell me where the hardware was placed..

After a triple bypass, I got an infection in the incision. The Home Health Nurse called and was told they would get back in touch. They didn't. We went to the ER and they called Dr. Jay's office and they were told someone would get back with them. They didn't We wound up going back to the ER numerous times. No, Dr Jay never returned their calls. When we went to a different hospital they called Dr. Jay's office and said they could go in and see what was going on. Suddenly Dr. Jay wanted me transferred to his hospital and he didn't come in to see me for two days. I had a bacterial abscess under the chest wall and could have died. I have found out since several of his patients got infections and/or complications from their surgery. He seems to be so interested in doing surgeries he doesn't have time to do the follow-up. I would not recommend him to anyone.
I had my pleurodesis a few months ago along with heavy scar removal on the inside. Dr.J did an absolutely wonderful job, a pleurodesis and resection was scheduled, however given past lung problems Dr. J took my overall safety into account and decided it was unsafe to do the resection so close to my heart, He cleared most of the scar tissue inside and preformed the pleurodesis. And was in my room daily after the surgery. Even when my recovery took longer than planned. I was living in constant fear of an emergency room visit every time I lifted anything over 10lbs. Thanks to Dr. J I CAN LIVE A NORMAL 20 YEAR OLDS LIFE NOW.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
