I recommend First Coast Cardiovascular Institute for good heart care. I see Dr. Fahdi and Dr Hu there. Dr Hu put in a pacemaker about a year ago when I needed one. They are very knowledgeable and professional and interested in my care.

As cardiology patients of Dr. Yazan Khatib, it’s difficult to describe the comfort that my husband and I feel when we, ages 85 and 84, consult with Dr. Khatib concerning our health. Yesterday we both had semi-annual check-ups. My husband passed with no additional health problems. However, the recent swelling of my ankles and feet made me realize that my heart issues were not to be ignored. After Dr. Khatib’s evaluation of my EKG, it was evident that I was beginning a decline into heart failure. In his words, “The top and bottom halves of your heart are not communicating with each other”. My pacemaker is working well with one half but not with the other. My heart wanted to go into AFib. Following consultation with Dr. Al-Sabbagh, another excellent specialist in Dr. Khatib’s group, it was decided to jump-start my heart with an electric shock which, along with medication, should keep me from going into heart failure. The procedure was done by Dr. Khatib in the office building with the tender care of four qualified and caring nurses, and I am very grateful to Dr. Khatib and his team for their proactive treatment. FCCVI...saved my life when previous Drs could get the diagnosis right..Not only is Dr Khatib the best doctor I've ever had..he always breaks down his plans for me and lets ME approve it..and his staff is extra-ordinary.

Dr Khatib quickly found the root cause of my cardio problems. Reduced heart function was discovered. A year later my cardio system is back to normal
