List of John Stewart Smith's Reviews
I went to Dr. Smith for years. Although he is an affable person, there were too many unfavorable situations in regards to prescribing certain meds that have an adverse effect and then not suggesting a change, this happened a number of times. If I had not discontinued taking them on my own accord, I’m sure the end results would’ve been much worse. If you happen to miss an appointment and need meds to treat diabetes and high blood pressure, they have no problem cutting off your meds until you see them.. we are holding your meds hostage until you see us, as I was told “ If you don’t like how we do things, you’re welcome to go elsewhere”. Which I’ve done, for sure. I’m in the care of a much more competent Dr now, and on the mend.
I’m in the process of switching over all my drs and specialists due to an insurance change and I chose to give Dr. Smith a try. During my establishment appointment, he was very attentive and helpful with everything I was concerned about. He answered all my questions and I left my appointment feeling like I was in good hands. Dr. Smith learned about my influx of medical issues and conditions and was not overwhelmed. He requested the records from all my drs and specialists and specifically asked what can he do for me to help me in the process. My main reason for having a PCP is to serve as a middle man per se to communicate between my specialists and he was graciously happy to help. I look forward to improving my health and well-being alongside Dr. Smith’s care.
I have epilepsy and went awhile back for treatment between neurologists (medication, etc). He did a remarkable job and everything worked out.
Top Notch doctor man.
Took my child to see him Looked at the problem area but didn't finish out the routine check up twice.... I feel I had to tell him to check her out better, even had to ask for a test so we could figure out what was wrong. He just threw her on antibiotics twice with out knowing for sure if it was bacteria or viral... To me my Childs health is to important for guess work, going some where else....
Dr. Smith is not my doctor, but he is my daughters, husbands and mothers. He is very caring and takes as much time with you as needed.. It would be sad if Jay ever lost him to another area.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
