List of Beach House's Reviews
While working at Beach House, I dealt with a lot of adversity and I was very uncomfortable most of the time. While my direct manager of the kitchen, Christopher R. was and is still dealing with an opioid addiction, he involved me by having me pick them up for him. (which I have text messages to prove) I felt and still feel this was an unacceptable request and the sole reason why I did it, was to preserve my job. I have been in a toxic environment for years and I can say this is the first time, in a long long time, that I can truly breathe.

Had a great experience with Beach House, my daughter really got a lot from there. The alumni staff really went above and beyond to stay in touch and help once she left as well, I can’t thank you guys enough.
I'm giving Beach House a 5* rating because they did what I wanted and what I needed; to be sober and get on the path of recovery.Honest review. I'm currently 41 days sober. 21 of those days was spent at Beach House (BH). The Detox and Residential staff were all friendly and accommodating. Ke-Ke and Ray were the most helpful to me when I was there from a "living" aspect; and Ray actually gave me some advise and words of wisdom that made me realize I am an alcoholic and that I can't get or stay sober on my own.My therapist, Catherine, was also amazing. Catherine is very knowledgeable and she was able to dig into issues that kept me drinking for 20 years uncontrollably. Most importantly she taught me about the disease of alcoholism and gave me the tools to to stay sober. I suppressed all emotions during my drinking days and after a week of detoxing I started feeling emotions for the first time that I can remember. Catherine was able to help me manage through this process.Everyone is assigned a Case Manager and I was assigned Christina. Christina was key in helping me get aftercare in the state I live, and although we had difficulty, she didn't give up. She also set up appointments with my doctors and gave me all the information for AA when I returned home. What to Expect:The living situation was uncomfortable for me. When I arrived I went through the intake process and was seen by the medical staff. I was drunk when I got there, so I don't remember much. I was picked up but a staff member at the airport and she was kind even though I was an emotional and physical mess. In Detox the rooms can hold up to 3 people and the people in the room share a bathroom/shower. The rooms are small IMO although the placement of the furniture does give you some privacy (or at least the sense of privacy). Once out of Detox you are transferred to a residential unit where you share a room with 2 or 3 other people. Same thing, you and your roommate(s) share a bathroom/shower.The first 5 days +/- I felt like a zombie. The medication that was given to me kept me "high", and it wasn't until a couple days after my taper that I started to feel "normal" again. There is plenty of medical staff available 24/7.You basically have free roam of the place. There is no bedtime. You can hangout outside all night and smoke cigarettes if you want (and some did). With limited hours, you have access to an outdoor pool and fitness center. There is also volleyball, cornhole, basketball, and other games that you could play. There was a daily trip to the beach at 6-7:30am for those that wanted to go. Every night there was a different activity for people that wanted to attend. My favorite was karaoke.3 meals a day are provided and for each meal there are a ton of options to choose from. It's served cafeteria style and you can eat in the cafeteria or take food to go and eat in your unit or outside at one of the many tables. Snacks anytime you want. Every meal I had was decent, and you can get as much as you want.Must Brings - At least 5 outfits (laundry is 2 days a week), don't forget socks and underwear. Deodorant, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Bring cigarettes and a lighter if you smoke. Insulated water bottle is helpful. It's not a good place to decide you're going to quit smoking. They have some stuff to give you, but it's like the stuff you would get in jail. They don't have shaving cream, so bring that too unless you want to use bar soap. Some people complained about lack of structure at BH, which I can see and I felt that way at times. You're not forced to go to any groups or classes (but encouraged). For the people that choose not to attend it's a good place to dry out, but if you actually want help it's there and offered from 8:15am-7:30pm. Time actually went by fast for me once I took advantage of the program and went to most classes.Anyplace can only give you the tools to help you get into recovery. You have to want it. I want it, and credit BH for saving my life.
The treatment I received at Beach House saved my life! The staff showed me love and support when I could not love myself. Not only am I clean and sober 3 years later, but I learned the skills and tools to stay clean for life. The classes are engaging and interesting. The recreational activities provide a refreshing break and the beach allows you to escape into paradise. I am so grateful to Beach House, the doctors, councilors, the techs and the wonderful chefs. My children have their mom back because of you!
It's not on a beach, despite the name. It was a great experience for me. In the 1st stage of treatment, there's a large number of people in a huge strip mall turned into a treatment community. The large size of the facility helped me feel less trapped as you may feel in a small treatment center. I stayed through PHP and IOP. IOP was awesome! There's a big fishing dock on the water near Singer Island inlet. There's good fishing and awesome snorkeling. I'd see nurse sharks, fish off all different colors, sea turtles, manatees, sting rays, star fish..all off the dock. Don't go in expecting perfection. It's not perfect and residential has a lot of personalities crunched together but you never feel alone. Of your open minded and are willing to go to any length to get sober, it's worth all the experiences. I'm 8 months sober and running thanks to Beach House.
This is an amazing place with an amazing staff. They really care about the clients.
This place has EVERYTHING you need to start being sober and helps you after. The gratitude that my family and I have for Beach House cannot be matched. If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction please reach out as soon as you can, they will help. Changed my life forever...thank you guys!
*review written on behalf of patient to protect anonymity*Sadly, I have been to 20 treatment centers and various levels of care. So, my review comes from a place of knowledge and experience. I would give them a decent review regarding detox and residential. However, the other levels of care (php and Iop) which accounts for roughly 50% of their business, is nothing but PATHETIC. The lack of quality in clinicians was astonishing. I wonder if their therapists received their accreditations from an Indian reservation , Puerto Rico, or the like. The groups were often a YouTube video, word search or a game. Sadly, I found my roommate blue, contorted, and overdosed on Fentanyl on mySofa. Rehab romances galore. Really all they care about is you attending groups in order to bill your insurance. They do not provide any type of resources for residents past residential care. There is zero support with life skill development, job hunting or medication. They do not take you to meetings or support you getting a sponsor. The option of going to the gym once a week ended at PHP and was often disregarded all together. I contracted COVID while there and was asked to discharge , even though they refused to test me. I quarantined on my own, returned two weeks later, where I was greeted by staff who more or less acted like they had never met me before (mind you I spend two months there prior). STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO TRULY GET BETTER!
They said my insurance would cover my treatment, when in reality I am now facing a bill for 268 thousand dollars. Be careful. Don't let them fly you there and take advantage of you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
