List of James G Houle Md's Reviews
Dysfunctional office is a nightmare. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. No call backs IF you CAN get thru to the office. Disconnected when you attempt to call the office. No reports on testing. Dr Houle maybe fantastic but his office is unbearable. in an exam room and did not know where they put me! No follow up. Staff waited days to submit a request for CAT scan.
Long wait
extremely thorough
Dr Houle very professional and a great doctor. Solved my long standing problem. Nothing but rave reviews
I, and my husband and my mother all go to this office. Bad 3 days. Swimmers ear probably. How would I know? I'm not a doctor. They dropped the ball hard. I'm old. I needed an appointment. NADA.NOPE. Nothing for 4 weeks. Opps, they were bought! Oh my, NO doctor to see! Correct. No doctor to see or talk to. They suck! I have an issue. They stepped away!
He doesn't deserve 1 star. Nope. Nope. Nope. Read these reviews. I guess I'm not the only one. However, I do have an ear problem. Houle nor his office were available. F_ck Them!
I’ve been going to Dr. Houle for 13 years. He had been one of the most caring doctors I have. Very attentive, explains everything so I can understand it and very proactive. Whenever I’m really sick with my ears, sinuses or throat they get me in. When I had experienced vertigo, twice, they got me in that day. They always follow up with me and I never had a reason to complain. In addition the staff has always been extremely friendly.
It took almost 2 weeks and 4 phone calls to have a prescription probed in to the pharmacy. My last called was to request to speak with the office mgr. i received a call from someone who explained she didn’t understand how this happened other than the fact that she and others were new there. I explained that it shouldn’t take years of employment to fax/email a prescription in as patients rely on the meds the doctor prescribes. Her half hearted “I’m sorry” was all she could do to be done with the call. Unnecessary and unacceptable and the worst part is that the doctor is most likely unaware that this is even happening. Maybe now he will and will fix it. Too bad…
Very simply, I am a patient of Dr Houle who needed a new prescription for a med the Doctor had put me on. It took FOUR calls /messages over a period of approx 10 days to FINALLY have the script called in. I had to ask for the office manager. I really received a call back from someone who I do not believe was the office manager and explain that she really didn't know how it slipped through the cracks other than they have some new people working in the office. I explain to her that was an unacceptable excuse as they were doctors office and the patients rely on that office for healthcare and medicinal care as well. She's had no other answer for me and basically blew me off. Very very disappointing to say the least!
He is very dismissive and does not help patients once he has treated them and the treatment does not work. When someone losses their hearing suddenly, time is of the essence in treatment. after he tried steroid injections that did not work, we were told, "sorry, you may just have to live without hearing in one ear". The doctor he referred us to has never called back after 3 tries.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
