Dr. McConnell is truly amazing!

Dr McConnell is a great doctor and other physicians in the practice have been good as well. She has been patient with us as parents of a toddler and teen. When we have had specific concerns, Dr McConnell has been super responsive. As a plus, Dr McConnell is part of UHealth/U of Miami physician community, so it is easier to get advanced care and quality specialists and see labs/results online. I only wish scheduling and office staff were as wonderful but that is a challenge in every dr office.

Dr McConnell listens to all our concerns, answers ALL the questions, and is very patient (considering we are first time parents with lots of questions). And it's really important to have those qualities, plus she's really good with our son.

Dr. McConnell is an excellent pediatrician in the UHealth System (University of Miami's Health System). I am very fortunate to have found her. She is friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. My daughter sees her for routine care and now that my daughter is ill, she will probably be coming in more often. Upon the follow-up care instructed by Nicklaus Children's Hospital, she and an intern examined my child's progress and performed the necessary testing that they had ordered. She spent 4 hours with my child, and was very patient, even when my child vomited upon hearing that she needed to have blood drawn (yup, my daughter is Oscar Award-worthy). Most doctors these days rush you out of their offices in 10 minutes -- quantity over quality to make a profit, but not her. She stressed the importance of weekly follow-up, calmly explained to me what was happening, and told me about homebound schooling, something I was unaware of. The doctor offered to provide me with a letter to present to the principal, as well as helping to complete the homebound schooling application. She also told us of a UHealth van that goes to several locations in Miami and can do testing on the spot for free, since my daughter requires weekly testing and her office provided us with all the necessary information. When your child is ill, you want answers, and you also want someone who has empathy, who knows what you are going through, how scared your child feels and can calm and understand everyone. Dr. McConnell is empathetic, friendly, and yet can answer questions, and although she may give you the best and worst case scenario, she will be optimistic yet realistic, and offer support should things take a turn for the worse.

Dr. McConnell uses her personal experience to provide helpful information to parents. As a first time parent, she made me feel at ease and spend the time I need to make sure I understood the information she provided. She is caring and knowledgeable. She makes babies happy and is patient. Great doctor!
