Dr. Blass and the entire team of Southermost Surgery & Veins exceeded my expectations. My primary care physician referred them. Suffering from varicose veins for over 6 years it was exciting to finally have a local surgeon available. Very first phone call I was given all necessary information needed for my insurance company. Contacted the insurance company and supplied them with the information. One week later they called and confirmed my coverage. Had a consultation and ultrasound. Scheduled to have procedure following week. The amazing staff professionally sorted out the horrific insurance red tape. I no longer suffer from varicose veins. Thanks Dr. Blass & Staff of ROCKSTARS!

My first colonoscopy at age 58 and I was nervous about it, mostly from the unknown. They also did the endoscope to check my esophagus and that sytem too at the same time. At the consult Dr. Blass explained everything and answered all my questions. The staff was courteous and they even had a kit that was over the counter but one drug would have cost more than the entire kit so that was very convenient. The prep was not nearly as bad as I expected and then the day of the procedure was a walk in the park. I went in, they gave me meds to relax me and finally put me to sleep. I drifted off in the room in about 2 seconds and woke up what felt like 1 second later in recovery. There was no pain, no side effects and all the nerves were for nothing. On the followup appointment the doctor again explained all their findings, what they mean, and answered any questions. He is very knowledgeable and personable which is a rare combination in doctors and, from my experience, even more so with surgeons. Dr. Blass and his staff are great and the Surgery Center staff were too! Thanks everyone! I'm glad I was referred to your team.

This place is really good and have GREAT team working employees. I've been to a few different surgeons and Dr's offices in the past but these girls ROCK and defiantly go over and beyond to help and assist with there patients and always have an answer for when I'm confused and don't understand, i rate this place and there staff @ 100+; thank you to everyone and i greatly appreciate everything and looking forward to have y'all doing my surgy. #KeepUpTheGreatWork

Both Dr Blass and Dr Flanigan saved my life. After months of minor abdominal pain, and a week of severe pain, Dr Blass made the wise decision to NOT perform a colonoscopy. Instead, he immediately sent me to the ER for a CT Scan with Contrast. What I thought was possibly diverticulitis, turned out to be a 2.1cm grill brush wire that had made its way to my colon. Within a half a day, Dr Flanigan performed abdominal surgery and removed the wire. It had slightly punctured my colon and had miraculously stayed in place without further harm. Dr Flanigan’s post-surgery follow-up was concise, respectful, and informative. He and Dr Blass have my long-term health as their main priority. I would not be here without them!

I had a very frustrating experience with this practice. I had a total of (3) appointments to see what they could do for one varicose vein in my leg that I was having pain with. I had to have an initial consultation, an ultrasound and then a follow up consultation to discuss the ultrasound. At that follow up consultation Dr. Blass recommended a procedure and said it was covered on my insurance. When I went to check out and schedule the procedure, I was told by the receptionist that my insurance in fact does NOT cover the procedure and it I paid cash it would be shy of $4K. Needless to say, I'm not able to pay that. I'm frustrated that I wasted my time with 3 appointments and spent hundreds of dollars on the appointments, only to be told at the end that my insurance wouldn't cover what I needed for the varicose vein. I'm not clear why they didn't look at my insurance (provided at the 1st consultation) initially and let me know there was this possibility. Presumably becuase they didn't look at my insurance or care since they got some payment from me. There was no apology for anything from this practice or to Dr. Blass. I would not consider this to be an organized, thoughtful or friendly practice - beware.

Dr. Blass did my recent colonoscopy and it went just fine. Great office staff and Dr. Blass kept me well informed and explained everything thoroughly. Very happy with his team.

My experience with Dr. Blass and his staff was wonderful. I believe he compassionate and is a great surgeon.

My experience with Dr. Blass and the entire staff at Southernmost Surgery and Veins deserves a 5 star review. Dr. Blass is thorough, patient friendly, and very professional. I would recommend Dr. Blass and his staff to anyone in the Lower Keys that needs a Gastroenterologist.

My vein procedure was not done well. Dr. Blas's have me scheduled to fix the problem when it was time for the procedure 1st. they rescheduled 24 hours before my appointment and when I got there he didn't fix the problem and yet he wanted to do my good leg without fixing my bad one. 2nd. They had the nerve to charge me for something the Doctor didn't did well his job. Really disappointed. And yet after more than 2 months after the first procedure my wound still yet to heal. 😒☹️

Great experience with Dr. Blass and his staff. Dr. Blass is so thorough, gentle and professional. Easy procedure with great results. His staff are helpful and friendly.
