I am a competitive runner, with numerous foot issues, who has lived on both coasts and now the Florida Keys. I have been fortunate enough to have seen some well known foot docs & orthopedics. Dr Makimaa is as good as they get. Great diagnostic skills, motion evaluation and a dedicated staff.

I could not be happier with Dr Makimaa! Had a foot infection he gave me the correct antibiotic and his nursing staff managed the follow up with true expertise! Four days later there was remarkable improvement with a complete follow up plan! I highly recommend Southern Most Foot and Ankle....

Recently I had my second experience with Dr. Maimaa and his staff. I felt very comfortable in the six or seven weeks I had to go with the office response to Covid. Dr. Makimaa and his entire staff were professional, friendly, and empathetic to my foot situation....and the outcome ultimately was absolutely resolved very very well. My husband had a wound on his leg that would not heal. Dr. Makimaa and his team got it to finally heal after over a year of trying everything. The entire office was super nice, helpful and great to work with. I would highly recommend this office!

I visited Dr. Makimaa in December because I was not walking correctly. For months if not years I was suffering with back and hip issues that were a result of arthritis in my foot. I was able to get an appointment the same day. My doctor was able to explain the condition that I had and gave me many options that would help. I elected to have surgery. Dr Makimaa and the hospital staff were excellent. Its been 8 weeks since I had my surgery and my foot is recovering very well. My back and hip pain is gone. I have been extremely satisfied with Dr Makimaa and his staff they are all very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I would highly recommend them.

We were in Key West for 2 1/2 months and had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Makimaa and his staff. They are absolutely amazing! My husband had an open would on his shin and this is the first office to make any progress! The staff is so friendly and helpful and Dr. Makimaa is honest, and gets results! I would recommend visiting this office first!! Thank you, thank you!!
