List of Lifestance Health's Reviews
Absolutely stay away from Lifestance!!! They charge double, have a terrible portal system, and make it very difficult to talk to anyone or to reschedule/cancel appointments. Not a good company at all!
This company is not transparent about their pricing and anpparently only care about money. Specifically, I saw Margaret Beymer out of Fort Harrison. I was never informed I could be charged an additional $170 for a “complexity fee” on top of a $340 new patient visit. The fee is at the discretion of the practitioner, and once I reached out regarding the fee, the only thing I was told was that, “all visits are charged differently.” I would not recommend this company.
this company is what happens when healthcare clinics are run by billing professionals
I almost died trying meds that didn’t work since January 2025. I went into psychosis twice. My psychiatrist was just guessing on what I should take based off of medical info she did not have. What I mean, is that she had no medical history on me nor did she have a GeneSight DNA Test. Neither did she have my overall medical history which helps finding the right options. I had that document and it was 14 years old. The sad part is that I had to hold the thick document up to her during our virtual visits or she would just say turn to this medication or not medication and we will try this medication. I’m out of the hospital and was told that she can only treat my anxiety which was at the correct dosage and prescribe seroquel, and hydroxyzine for sleep. She chews gum during our appointment and she has no compassion. I hurt after each call. One good advice was being told to continue seeing my psychologist and she was right. Thank God I wasn’t suicidal but I was so close. I’m stable now. I’m not agitated or missing sleep for days. I’m allergic to everything that was given to treat bipolar: Adderall and Geodon, and can only be prescribed my anxiety medication and seroquel, hydroxyzine. Again, I’m stable now but I’m surprised I got my job back from being out sick and just starting the job.
No just no. Life Stance Health is run by incompetent worthless billing "professionals". They asked for a debit card. Never, ever give your debit card to a clinic. They will take funds that aren't theirs to take. Bunch of thieves and criminals.
At first, LifeStance seemed like a great option: they accept my insurance, have offices everywhere, offer virtual visits, and provide extensive testing for a variety of mental health concerns. I only wish I had taken the time to read the countless negative experiences others have shared online. Everything was fine — until I truly needed their support. That’s when they failed me completely. If you live with a serious mental illness like I do, there's always a risk of having a crisis and needing to take medical leave from work. In my case, I had to file a short-term disability claim. My nurse practitioner initially filled out the paperwork, but only included my long-standing diagnosis — not the acute issues that were affecting me at the time. I reached out to the psychiatrist who prescribes my medication (including a controlled substance), hoping she could assist. Her response: “I can’t help because I don’t know you.” So I had to schedule — and pay another $80 for — a second appointment with the NP a month later, just to get the paperwork corrected. I essentially had to tell her what to write. Then came the issue of getting my records sent to the insurance company. To give you an idea of how badly they mishandled everything: I’ve now been off work for three months, and I return in just three days. In the meantime, I had to take out a personal loan just to stay afloat — all while raising a grandchild on my own. If all you need is basic therapy and medication management, maybe LifeStance will work for you. But if you’re ever in crisis or need real advocacy and support, I urge you to look elsewhere. The only bright spot in this entire experience has been my therapist, Sareena — she is absolutely amazing and the one person at LifeStance who truly listens and cares.
Booked online for my daughter’s first visit which has to be virtual. Never heard anything for TWO MONTHS but we showed up anyway. No one joined so after 15 minutes of waiting I called the office. The receptionist told me the appointment was canceled two months earlier with a VM to me on a date when I had never received a call, let alone a VM. I was told the provider doesn’t see patients with my daughter’s issues. The issue they stated is NOT why we scheduled the appointment!! Ummm… isn’t that what the first visit is for??? To discuss why we’re seeking treatment?? Online booking is ridiculous. Canceling by VM is clearly INEFFECTIVE. And unless you ask “Why are we seeing you?” YOU WON’T KNOW until you see the patient!!! This place needs to do better!!! Don’t waste your time.
Worst billing department ever!!!!
Run, don’t walk, away from this company. Billing fraud is rampant and they don’t bother to fix it - look at their Better Business Bureau profile; the BBB has even issued an alert about their billing practices. Search Reddit for “LifeStance Health” and read the horror stories. In my experience, they’ve been fraudulently overbilling me for 3 years. A recent 7-minute phone call was billed as BOTH a 30-minute outpatient appointment AND 16-37 minutes of psychotherapy. I have clear, irrefutable evidence that this call lasted just 7 minutes and the billing was incorrect. I’ve sent this evidence to LifeStance. They haven’t fixed it. For over a month now I’ve been trying to get LifeStance to correct the billing fraud on my account - they’ve completely ignored all my efforts. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard someone is “looking into this”, “investigating”, etc., and/or been promised I’d receive follow-up communication that never came. Even while I’m actively calling them out on their billing fraud and trying to dispute my falsified “balance”, they continue to fraudulently overbill me. My most recent appointment, once again, has been billed incorrectly. Once again, they’re doing absolutely nothing to address it. This is a company that only cares about squeezing as much money as possible out of a vulnerable population, even if it’s through fraud.
Absolutely do not recommend dealing with this organization. Their billing dept is awful and you cannot get anyone to ever call you back.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
