First Light is a top-notch, caring and professional organization. They took care of my husband until his death several months ago. They not only cared for him, but helped me to stay sane. And now, they cared for me, post-knee surgery, with compassion and professionalism. They are very willing to work with your needs and schedule. I recommend them highly!

I have used FirstLight twice now – once for my father who was on hospice care at home, and once for my mother who was recovering from a knee replacement. In both cases, they were fantastic and truly a lifesaver. We dealt with a couple other home care agencies before finding FirstLight for my father, and they absolutely paled in comparison.I can't say enough positive things about Amie Deak. She's not only professional, honest, and efficient, but she's compassionate, empathetic, and driven to meet your needs. She worked hard to create a caregiving schedule that worked for us with caregivers who would be the best fit.The caregivers at FirstLight are top notch (and if they don't quite meet expectations, Amie handles it swiftly and with transparency). We had this agency caretake for my father. Our aid of 4 months was becoming complacent and clumsy. When we tried to express this to the aid and the agency, the owner of the Lady Lake franchise, Amie Deak became very threatening, condescending and belligerent. AVOID THIS AGENCY AT ALL COST……we had to hire an exterminator because of their inefficiency!

When it became apparent that our aid had absolutely no training we tried to discuss and rectify this with the agency. The owner Amie Deak became threatening and abusive. We are looking into formal charges through the VA. BEWARE OF THIS AGENCY…….we had to hire an exterminator due to their negligence.

watch out and be careful. Amy Deakin brags how she will not cater to the VA because it is a FREE SERVICE TO THEM. sooooo sad. the VA should be first on the list. several clients cry because if the service they provide. they hire anyone and have a "drug test" that they brag is cheap and not valid. they don't care about your well being. they will allow a client to sit in soiled diapers. Both my husband and I benefitted from the services provided by FirstLight. They are licensed and comply with all state requirements. The owner, Amie Deak, matched us with a care taker, Dianna. She matched us! She met us, assessed our home situation, needs and figured out who among her staff could best serve us .. not only physically but personality fit. I never knew of a service that endeavored to do that. Her choice in caretaker for us was spot on. Dianna was delightful and efficient. The service provides help with cleaning, cooking, physical care such as bathing and dressing, rides to doctors .. just anything needed .. and in a warm and friendly manner. The staff is knowledgeable and experienced. I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with their care at a time when as elderly folks we were at our most vulnerable. FirstLIght is a great choice if you need this kind of care.

Amie with FirstLight Home Care was Great to work with. My Mother needed help after surgery and FirstLight was there for us. They provided prompt service and worked with us to create a schedule that was convenient for our family. Amie was fantastic in explaining how the service worked and what type of care they could provide. I would encourage anyone needing help for themselves or a loved one to try FirstLight.
