I came to this urgent care on Thursday, 11/2, after having severe right flank pain and a 103 degree fever with chills thru the night. The front desk staff and nurse/tech who brought me to my room were very kind. I explained to them that I had a kidney stone in January that caused a kidney infection & I experienced very similar symptoms at the time. I explained how the flank pain this time felt much worse and that I was unable to sit down or lay on my back. I indicated I did not have any problems with frequency or burning/pain when urinating, but did have severe pain in my abdominal area and lower back on only the right side of my body. A urine sample was taken & I waited for the ARNP to come in. Tamika, the ARNP, came in and told me I had a “pretty bad UTI” and she was positive it was caused by the way I was wiping after using the bathroom. She completely embarrassed me by asking me how I wipe, then before allowing me to answer her question, cut me off and demonstrated the “right way". She claimed she never had a UTI herself, because she wipes the right way and that most women get UTIs because of wiping the wrong way. She completely ignored me when I told her I've never had a UTI before, but did have a kidney infection earlier in the year caused by a kidney stone. I know this information was ignored because my aftercare notes did not accurately reflect the symptoms I reported. Symptoms I did not report were documented in my aftercare notes. After Tamika left the room I could hear her loudly joking with staff about her discussion with me, which felt terribly inappropriate. I was prescribed Bactrim and sent home with the caveat to go to the ER if my fever gets worse. After taking 3 doses of antibiotics with no improvement in pain, beginning to vomit frequently, and an increase in fever/chills, I went to the Lake Mary ER the following morning and was immediately identified as having a 5.5mm kidney stone obstructing my urinary tract. This was causing urine to backflow into my kidney and I was told I was showing signs of sepsis. I was transported over to AdventHealth Altamonte hospital by ambulance and admitted for sepsis. I had to have an emergency surgery to place a stent to drain the infection and many rounds of IV antibiotics. I was finally discharged yesterday. Although the majority of the staff at CentraCare were kind, I'm very put off by the attitude and negligence of Tamika and want to warn anyone else who may be considering this facility for urgent care needs. I would not recommend bringing anyone here.

They were polite, timely, and explained the diagnosis and treatment clearly. Great experience.

A very kind and understanding staff

Everyone in the office was so pleasant. From the moment I walked in, checking in, getting my vitals taken and seeing the Dr. Each and every staff member that helped with today's visit was AMAZING and that's far and few in between. Not everywhere you go, especially an urgent care, do you get start to finish grade A customer care!!! Thank you everyone 💓
