Got here 14 minutes late and it took them 1 minute to check me in so now I have to reschedule my appointment. However the last time I had an appointment they rescheduled me because the provider didn't work that day! Absolutely ridiculous. Have never had this problem before with this office!! Spoke with someone new, it was their first day and also Destiny. I overheard Destiny telling the back office staff or doctor that I was past their 15 minute window and whether or not they wanted to see me, which is a lie since I arrived before the 15 minute window closed. When I asked for the staffs name she brought her manager Tina, who offered me times to reschedule and mentioned Dawn had to go to a meeting, which I'm sure was just "lunch". This office went downhill from when we originally came 4+ years ago. Now all they care about is pushing papers.
I brought my daughter here for her 6 month well visit. The pediatrician never did an assessment on her. She literally looked at her and said "she looks healthy". No head to toe assessment, never listened to her lungs, heart, nothing. Never asked me any developmental questions. I asked questions that were dismissed.
This rating is not based on the physicians or practitioners at LM Peds. They are wonderful and have provided excellent care for my kids for over 16 years. The issue is Advent. I can not get a call back from the office. There have been multiple attempts to call and I've left messages that have gone unanswered for over 10 days. Most recently, there is a national shortage on a medication my son takes. It's an urgent matter. I have left a message and also spoken to someone live who promised someone would call me back the same day. That has not happened. I don't know what Advent expects people to do. Advent has switched to a somewhat centralized call and messaging system. I'm no longer talking to anyone who actually works in the office. I'm not sure what to do. I will likely have to physically drive to the office to get some urgent questions answered. I'm beyond frustrated and disappointed.
Absolutely love Lake Mary Pediatrics. They really care. Bonnie, one of the nurses, has helped me survive the first few years of parenthood with both my kids. Not sure what we would have done without the nurses line to ask questions from time to time. They even called us today to check on my sick older daughter.
My children have been going to this office for years. Normally the staff and doctors are professional, but sadly that has all changed. I called to request a letter from the doctor for my child who has been treated there for 10+ years for a medical condition and they have become corrupted by politics. Their behavior towards me was reprehensible. The nurse went as far as to hang up on me! Sadly, this once family friendly office has turned into political activists at the expense of our children!
Very interesting seeing these reviews when we've been going to this doctor's office (along with the College Park location) for over 5 years now and have never had anyone be rude or not having a good bedside manner with either of my children (now 5 and 3). All of the doctors (Landis, Roque, Chong, Norden, etc.) have been great with both of my boys. They have all been seen when they were supposed to be seen, and - while we had a few billing issues for reasons outside of both our control and their control (it was the insurance company not having the correct information) - everyone has always been kind and wonderful to us and, most importantly, our children.
PSA: Lake Mary Pediatrics is wonderful HOWEVER I would NOT recommend Dr. Thomas Alber to anyone I care about or love, ever! Dr. Alber lacks dedication to his profession and lacks respect to his patients and this practice. As a client of Lake Mary Pediatrics for 15 years we were absolutely crushed by Dr. Alber's insensitivity and response to our plea for help, from someone that was supposed to be our trusted medical professional! We are absolutely sickened by his actions and words, and if it wasn't for many other wonderful doctors at this practice my family, our family members, and several friends in the community would be finding a new forever practice. Dr. Alber made an already terrible situation worse and his unkind words and insensitivity will forever be embedded in our memories. Lake Mary Pediatrics is a wonderful, loving, caring and clean pediatrics office....HOWEVER, Thomas Alber, M.D. is not equipped, both personally or professionally, to handle anything more than a well visit!
We love Dr Chong! He cares for our three children and is as good a pediatrician as there is. He’s professional, knowledgeable and accessible with great bedside manner. He doesn’t overreact nor does he dismiss issues we bring to him; and our kids are kids which means we call or visit him and his practice a lot. He is extremely levelheaded and thorough and we highly recommend him.
We were referred to this office by Dr. Silverstein, our daughters original pediatrician. I don't know why this place has a low yelp rating, it's fantastic. The entire staff is great, so are the doctors. We've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, for scheduled visits and call aheads.
I brought my son on Tuesday to get his flu shot. He was super scared at first and was not ready for the shot. The nurse was very kind and patient and let us leave the room and "regain composure" and to let them know when we were ready to go back in. After about ten minutes of taking a breather outside, we let the front desk know we were ready! Once back in the room, my son got his shot and we were on our way. Both my kids have gone here since they were born. We've had great interactions with pretty much all the physicians. All physicians are knowledgeable and very patient.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
