At my initial visit Dr. Karatela requested a disc of the echocardiogram which I provided to his staff the following day. My next visit was for a stress test which was performed by his technician after which I was told I could not meet with Dr. Karatela because Humana hadn’t authorized the same day visit for the results. Humana had authorized 5 visits, After much frustrating back and forth between his office manager and my primary physician I was given the results by Dr. Karatela which were positive until I I asked if he had reviewed the provided echocardiogram disc. He had not! After reviewing it he referred me to JFK Valve Clinic for an appointment. They have average to poor reviews dealing with a life altering operation. Will be contacting my primary physician for another referral. Not a positive experience. He needs to educate his staff.

Dr. Karatella is aa caring cardiologist who takes time to listen to his patients and offers professional advise in understandable terms. I first met Dr. Karatella at JFK Hospital when I arrived via ablulance with a heart attack over three years ago and he has treated me that time.

My Mom is now a patient of Dr Karatela and I will definitely also be joining my Dad to his practice for ongoing check ups and treatment. I usually go with my parents to doctor appointments and from past experience compare to our experience now with Dr Karatella, I will say that he is an excellent cardiologist. He is highly knowledgeable, experienced, and never recommends more than what is necessary. He didn't rush the office visit, took the time to look at my Mom's prior test results and explained everything in detail. Very caring and trustworthy doctor, I would highly recommend him.

This is the most dedicated Doctor I have seen in a long time truly cares about his patients and goes that extra mile to get them the best care possible. I have 2 other Doctors and 1 friend who suggested I see him. They were 100% in the right for endorsing Dr. Karetela. I am glade he is on the staff at JKF.

Dr. Karatela, is a super 5 star doctor,,,he is very friendly in his approach to his care,,,he's easy talking makes me at ease and to understand my treatment and care. I would recommend everybody to visit Dr. Karatela

I saw him about some heart contusions and I was worried, perhaps I would die of this? But Rizwan assured me this is impossible to die from. He took me to the back room and did testings and everything was so clean, I had an amazing waiting room experience, this man knows his STUFF
