My sister and I along with all our family had the privilege of having Hospice House of Lakeland take care of our dad during his last days with us. They were super professional compassionate and words can’t describe the staff here. They are wonderful. Thank you all so much for helping us and helping dad be comfortable as he left this earth to go be with his Heavenly Father.
Great place each patient has there own room private patio screen in with a furniture and ceiling fan. The rooms are very spacious and.looks like a bedroom with a pull out couch that opens to a queen sized bed. I dont like saying this but if your love one needs to go on hospice care this is the place.
They took excellent care of my father and made sure his final days were comfortable They honored him for his service and were concerned for our family throughout and after his passing.Thank you
Very happy with there care. The physician was very well spoken and compassionate. The staff was well mannered and kind. Facility is clean and sanitary. Rooms are of great space if you want to sleep there. No limit to how many visitor.
spouse admitted and that morning the volunteer had no record of admittance. second day spouse got over medicated by high dose of pain patch and they took it off and were going to put another one on with a lower dose but explained there was already too much narcotic meds in him. Finally after I insisted no more patch until next day unless he exhibited pain. The patch was removed. He exhibited tremors and was unable by himself to contact the nurse if I had not been there. Second day in the early evening before shift change I came in to find spouse spilled water which was on bed gown and floor. I asked day nurse for a mop or someone to help clean and was told I could use a towel. It almost took 45 min before someone came in to help. Spouse vomiting and explained to day shift he needed to be on a schedule at least every 6 hrs instead of as needed. I asked for the Dr to approve a schedule not done that evening around 12 he complained of nausea and was to receive it on schedule as I assumed but Dr was not called again to chg it to a schedule medication.
My husband had very little time with hospice while in Lakeland hospital but even such limited care was excellent. The Chaplain came and had a wonderful service for my precious husband which was so meaningful to me.
Doctors were GREAT NURSES WERE NICE NASTY LAZY and didnt want to do their job even the charge nurse came into the room stating she would only try once to put an IV into the patient. Normally nurses will try AT LEAST 3 TIMES they acted as if they were so annoyed with us they didnt even use a turnkit to assist in finding a vein If hospice is to keep the patient comfortable why wouldnt you do what you have to do to make the patient comfortable......When my mom arrived the room appeared to be clean however the bathroom floor was nasty. When entering the restroom there was a brownish yellowish substance on the floor and between the tiles... House keeping wouldnt come to clean for hours so we asked for a broom and mop to clean it ourselves and nothing..ON day 3 housekeeping finally came in and used MY BLEACH to get the substance of the floor and actually mop it...At one point the patient was unable to catch her breath and we ran to get the nurses from sitting down we got eye rolls deep exhales and teeth sucking as if we interrupted them from whatever when uhhhh this is your job They overdosed my mother then the nurse falsified the information saying she gave the patients one medication but in the notes her documentation said a completely different time that the medication was given to cover her own a $$... When asking the nurse why the patient was breathing the way she was.. The nurse advised the patient has apnea when nurse was advised patient doesnt have apnea. I looked it up and come to find out there is a such thing called opioid apnea.Once we started to question the nurses about what they were giving the patient the nastiness got 10 times WORSE and it was as of ALL THE NURSES WERE AGAINST US TOGETHER No apologizies from management or nothing... IF YOUR L LOVED ONE IS ADMITTED HERE BE SURE TO TAKE NOTES OF WHAT IS BEING GIVEN TO YOUR LOVED ONE WHO IS GIVING IT HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN.. IF YOUR LOVED ONE DOESNT NEED THE MEDICATION REJECT THE MEDS AND DOCUMENT..DOCUMENT...DOCUMENTALSO REQUEST A COPY OF THE CHARTS AND VERIFY THE CHARTS MATCH YOUR NOTES..HOSPICE TO ME COSIDERS MAKING YOUR LOVED ONE COMFORTABLE BY OVERDOSING THEM AND TECHNICALLY ATTEMPT TO GET YOUR APPROVAL TO DO IT.. MOST OF THE PATIENTS THERE DIDNT HAVE FAMILY COMING IN TO CHECK ON THEM SO THEY MORE THAN LIKELY GET AWAY WITH THIS ALL THE TIME...
First class facility and care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
