Erjola Balliu does not have an adequate amount of comments to generate the sentiment analysis.
She is wonderful. Put me on Trulicity and my A1C dropped to 8 from a high of 12. I'm working to get it under 7.Dr. Balliu has a comforting personality. Very well-educated. Accolades of praise.
Where do I began. My first visit with this Dr was about 5 minutes and she said said everything is fine with my labs, never once felt my neck for abnormal growth. Second visit she tells me she doesn't know why I am there my labs are fine, still does not check my neck. well at that point I informed her I had an ultrasound on my thyroid. She leaves the room goes and reviews my ultrasound report and comes back and tells me that they found two areas of interest. One is the size that they might consider a biopsy, but she is going to monitor it then she address my abnormal TSH and informs me it is high but she is going to do me a favor and not treat it, because if she treats it is will more than likely cause me to gain weight. So she said to follow up in a year. So in the meantime I am supposed to keep feeling like crap for another year and wonder if this nodule in my thyroid is growing. She is rude and doesn't act like she cares at all. I was in the exam room for less than 10 minutes
Dr. Balliu has no interest in helping her patients. I have had type 1 diabetes for 18 years and I suffer from a severe Dawn Effect, and upon telling her about this she figures I need to up my Levemir dosage. She would not hear a word of my explanation why that has not solved it, was extremely rude and insulting, and constantly interrupted me as I tried to explain my situation and reasoning, including my consistently level blood sugars during fasting periods. She continues to insist her fix she spent very little time on is right and I am wrong. I then took logs of my insulin doses for 5 days at various levemir doses including her suggested high dose and augment these with my continuous glucose readings. None of the doses fixed the morning highs occurring overnight and her suggested dose cause severe lows during the day as expected. I attempted to show her the data but she instead discontinued care. She would rather ignore data and insist she is right than observe my data and help me.
My experience with Dr. Balliu was terrible. She does not listen and she does not have any answers as to why PTH levels are rising and Kidney levels are lowering. She just says come back in 6 months. She does not address your labs with you. She walks in the room and says everything looks good when you know for a fact that that is not the case. Everything is not good but she's not experience enough to know what to do about it. She is not a good doctor. I would not recommend her.
Please do not waste your time on this doctor and find someone who will actually take out the time to listen to you. During each of my visits, she rushed me in and out (under 10 minutes) and was over an hour late to my most recent appointment (and still only saw me for under 10 minutes). Each time, she acted as if I had no idea what was going on with my own body and interrupted me whenever I would bring up questions or even describe my most recent visits with other doctors, which ultimately brought me to her office. She firmly takes advantage of the power differential between patient and doctor. Before every visit, I tried to go in with more questions and did research to ask her about potential diagnoses in hopes of finally having a quality experience, only to have each question shut down with a curt answer as if what I was asking was ridiculous in the first place. She has no working knowledge of her own profession and if something is not spelled out exactly as you would see it in a textbook, it does not exist to her. She actually told me another doctor’s diagnosis for me did not exist because she had personally never heard of it. It’s easy to see that she’s just there to receive a paycheck and she is not actually interested in doing her job and doing it well. So please, if you are like me and have already been to numerous doctors trying to find answers, completely cross this one off your list and don’t waste your time, money, or energy: you’re just going to walk away feeling disappointed and unheard.
I saw her twice and the first time it was about 5 minutes but mainly because I had to look up one of my old records to show her because she hadn't seen it yet I guess. I thought that was short because she was waiting to get some background on me like my records and new lab work. I came back a second time and spent less than 60 seconds with her for her to tell me my labs are fine and come back in a year. Umm yeah, not a "you're in a good hands and I care about my patients" situation to me. So, disappointed I go to check out. I don't have time to make a follow up appointment and lab appointment before the gentleman seen after me is brought up to check out. His appointment as well no more than 2 minutes. This seems like a common behavior. Find someone who cares to know who you are and what you are going through.
Dr Balliu is not the right Endocrinologist for me. Seems she has limited knowledge when it comes to Thyroid and how the thyroid and hormones work. She does not listen when you try and explain what you are feeling in your body. She walks in the examining room and go over some, not all, your labs with you and says come back in 6 months. She did not address the issues that needed to be address. I tried to discuss this issue with her and she basically does not listen and walks out the room. Every visit I have had with Dr. Balliu lasted approximately 5 minutes or less. She does not show that she cares about her patients....at least me anyway. Her attitude is one of as long as I get my paycheck I'm good. The most Dr. Balliu has communicated with me is when I said something to her about my thyroid....she said she was a doctor and she has been practicing for 18 years. She did not want me to ask her any questions nor express how I felt. I definitely would not recommend this Doctor Balliu. If I could give her a rating of 0 I would.
I have had 3 visits with this doctor and each and every time, I was rushed in and out in under 10 minutes. During my most recent visit, she was over an hour late, and still rushed me out in under 10 minutes and barely bothered to answer my questions. She constantly interrupted me when I mentioned my symptoms, the previous doctors I had seen beforehand, and what I felt to be the problem. Even when I would do additional research following blood work, she would interrupt my questions, say various conditions did not exist because she personally had not heard of them, and said because I am a “young adult,” that everything was perfectly fine with me. Of course, I know this to not be the case. When I asked her for a differential diagnosis, she could not provide an inkling of what she thought might be going on with me, even if she believed it to be outside of her specialty. I have never had a doctor refuse to answer that question (like not even attempt to at all). I felt gaslit and unheard and even thinking to my most recent visit: if you are going to be over an hour late, you at least owe me the courtesy of doing your job instead of doing the bare minimum in 10 minutes or less. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a doctor who pretty much hates their patients and thinks they’re all idiots. I would say it’s a miracle how she’s still employed where she is, however, it seems to be the culture there where doctors do not actually care for the patients, so she fits right in.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
