Been taking kids here for years. Never had an issue.
Great place to take children who need health care. Friendly employees. Dr Megan is the best really cares
Unprofessional in my opinion. My daughter had to go to the ER because there are never any same day appts when your child is sick. She ended up on antibiotics for an ear infection and she had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. So I called the office the next day and Dr. A refused to change the antibiotics even with documentation from the hospital showing she was seen and had an ear infection. I also heard him in the background as the employee was speaking to me on the phone - he had a very smug attitude and told the staff member to take her back to the ER. For a simple antibiotic change!! I took her back and even the ER doctor said he could have called in something different. Another issue we had was the billing nightmare. We would pay the copays and have proof we paid only to get a bill in the mail. Good luck trying to speak to the billing department it’s run by one lady who needs to retire for all the errors made. Just last month I brought my daughter in and told the nurse I think she had a yeast infection from the antibiotics she was on and was told to put over the counter cream on it. She said if it didn’t improve to call in and they would call in something. Well it never improved and when I called in I was told she never said that and to bring her in. This was my final straw with them. They only care about money. Dr. A has an unprofessional attitude and in my opinion does not care about your child. I will also add since finding a new pediatrician my teenage son has several medical issues that were clearly ignored by this practice. Some issues that may require surgery even. I wouldn’t even bring my dog here.
I wanted to love this office for my two children. We have been going to My Pediatrics since June 2024. Our first visit right off the bat I didn’t feel the doctor was interested in listening to my concerns. He quite frankly seemed judgmental. As the months went by, I tried to find a new pediatrician in our area based on reviews. I thankfully didn’t ever need to bring my children in since they are healthy. My youngest ended up with an ear infection. I called to get an appt and they had zero appts. (This has been the case every time I call to get a sick appt.) We ended up in the ER for a simple ear infection. This was her first time ever on antibiotics as well. Come to find out she is allergic to amoxicillin. I called the doctor the next day and told the nurse she was at the ER and has an ear infection and the antibiotics were not agreeing with her. She had broke out in hives. Not only did it take staff the ENTIRE day to call me back, but I could hear Dr. A in the background saying he wasn’t giving a different antibiotic to her and to go back to the ER. To add to the issue he said this with an attitude. Very unprofessional! So I had to drag her back to the ER for a different antibiotic. Even the ER doctor said it was absolutely insane they didn’t call a different antibiotic in for her. Fast forward a few months. I had taken my kids in for a sick visit. I paid the copays with my debt card yet I still got a bill!! After a million calls back and forth it finally was resolved (weeks later). After my experience with Dr. A, I decided to see the nurse practitioner moving forward- she is great! However, about 6 months after the first billing issue it happened yet again. The lady who does the billing needs to get trained or something. This time she argued with me saying it wasn’t paid EVEN WITH SCREENSHOTS OF MY BANK! Another issue we had was the girl at the front desk. She was never professional or respectful to myself or my husband. When I brought up the billing issue she printed the account out and slapped it on the counter and told me to figure it out. I told the MA in the back what happened and she said the office manager would call me and she was so sorry. The office manager never called. The girl at the desk either quit or got fired. My very last straw was my last appt I had let the doctor know my daughter may have a yeast infection from the antibiotics she just finished. She told me to put over the counter ointment on it and call if it got worse. She said she would call in medicine if needed. Well it didn’t improve and when I called they said I absolutely had to bring her back in. Bottom line, this office is a money mill. They just want your money and even when you pay copays they will bill you twice. The doctor himself doesn’t care about your child and is extremely rude. Thankfully we have found a new pediatrician who shows she cares!
Apparently it is office policy NEVER to write an mri? Even if it is needed, has appropriate codes, and absolutely within their scope of practice, they will not write it. This causes delays in care and increase medical costs, related to possibly unnecessary specialist appointments and waits for this. They will only see well visits and the sniffles. Everything else is a specialist visit, even when a pediatrician should absolutely be able to manage within primary care. We had been patients for 14 years. New pediatrician wrote it right away. MRI completed no prior auth needed, did NOT need to be prescribed by specialist. All the reasons give not to write it were totally untrue
They do not talk to you if things are wrong with your insurance untill the day before an appointment. Went here for over 10 years with my oldest and never had a problem till now.. new people in that office almost every month.. this place as gone down hill big time
Doctor Ayala is amazing he truly cares for his patients and go beyond my expectations I truly blessed to have the team of great people taking cares of my kiddos. Have a blessed healthy New Year to all!
We went to this location for 4.5 years and very disappointed. We went through a ton of drs I’m guessing due to turnover - and ended with Dr A before I finally switched. When my daughter was a month old he instilled fear in me that my daughter had something wrong with her because she was relaxed in our arms. When asked what gave him the impression something was wrong he said “just look at her” he scared me into seeing a specialist which I would have appreciated but ended up only hating their office more. He had no indication on why I needed to be seen, I asked for a second opinion within the office and when it came time for that appointment they told me they don’t do that and wouldn’t accommodate even thought Dr a said we could. It took me 9 months of ignoring my gut, showing up and getting a pit in my stomach to finally switch. They are also quick to just prescribe antibiotics and be done with you. My son went through so many antibiotics under his care and has never needed them since. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here. Go to children’s medical center of lutz. They take their time, don’t rush you, you get seen at your appointment time unlike here where I would wait 20-45 mins on averageeee- and they know how to take care of kids. I never got a follow up so here’s your negative review. Thanks for giving me postpartum anxiety because you thought my relaxed baby had mental illness because “just look at her”
The best
I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr. A. He is truly one of the most intelligent, thorough, and compassionate pediatricians we’ve ever met. My daughter recently developed symptoms that didn’t seem to add up, and while most doctors might have brushed them off as something common, Dr. A looked deeper. Because of his knowledge and attention to detail, he caught her rare condition — Kawasaki’s disease — early. His quick thinking and expertise truly made all the difference for our family. He explained everything clearly, made sure we understood each step, and showed genuine care through the entire process. We are forever grateful for him. If you’re looking for a pediatrician who actually listens, cares, and is incredibly skilled, Dr. A is the one. Suncountry Pediatrics is lucky to have him, and so are we. As a mother, I will never forget how quickly he acted on behalf of my daughter — I am beyond thankful for the care he gave her during one of the scariest moments of our lives. I am beyond grateful. Thanks to him my daughter likely will not face long term effects of this disease. Thank you Dr.A my family and are so thankful for you and all that you do.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
