Condescending and inappropriate behavior

Re the recent FMA letter Dr. Giffler you are a pathologist. You have zero or near zero at best understanding of the workings and patient care involved in a primary care setting the proposed setting of focus of Mr. Olivia’s statements. To say you are off base with your derogatory remarks and highly defensive comment regarding the training and capabilities of today’s version of PAs is putting it so delicately. As a PA I am required to take recertifications regularly to show that I am up to date on my knowledge of a vast scope of medical topics to keep my license unlike physicians who adamantly stomped their feet at that prospect. Would you like to come take my place for even one day and attempt to manage the multiple patients and their numerous chronic comorbidities along with all the “oh by the ways” from stuffy nose to suicidal ideation in a 15 min time slot. I dare you to try 1 semester of the rigorous curriculum of any accredited PA graduate program today and pass.
