List of Marc H. Sherman's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr Marc Sherman's for many years. I very much respect and appreciate his knowledge and care. I must say as well... he has a new doctor, Dr Kelly, who is amazing as well. Actually... everyone in this office is top notch! I am thankful because I needed to bring my granddaughter into the office on an emergency basis and they scheduled her right away. I am extremely happy with everything they have done for me through the years!
All around good family optometrist. And staff.
He help my daughter 😊😊😊😊
As a mother of a child who was in desperate need of help, Dr Sherman you are a god send for us. Thank you for your dedication to vision therapy. You have helped our son in ways no other could. When glasses or surgery is not an option and we were hopeless, there you were. Thank you for all you do and have done.
Wonderful experience for myself and my children.
They have some really inexperienced staff. They are responsible that all my therapy sessions are not getting paid because they don't know their job. My insurance told me 'we would have paid but they have claimed it wrong'
I was in the position of many of the reviews about Vision Therapy that you see with Dr Sherman's office. We had just moved to Florida and I needed to find an new eye Dr for my middle child. I decided to try Dr Sherman's office out. After our first appointment Dr Sherman quickly told me that my daughter needed eye therapy as she had a Binocular Vision impairment. This therapy costs $800 a phase and you had to do three phases before you were re evaluated and then potentially could have to do it again. As a mom I wanted to make sure my child was getting what she needed so I signed up. However, part of the policy at their office that "due to insurance inconsistencies with benefit coverage they would not file though insurance". We paid up front and started therapy right away. Due to our work benefit package we called our insurance to get reimbursed for the payment. At that time our insurance told us that their office is actually supposed to run it through them since they are in our network and actually charged us more then they should for this service. We were also told they would only pay for 12 sessions as at this point this is how many is medically proven to help your child. After finding this information and more about the therapy program we pulled our child. Do your research on Vision Therapy and this office! It took many calls from me, my husband and our insurance to this office to actually have them file correctly. They would avoid our calls and not call anyone back.
Do not pay up front. I agreed to "vision therapy" for my child after being promised that they would file with my insurance and refund me what the insurance covered. I stopped vision therapy after $1600 cash invested and $0 has been returned to me. They will not speak to my insurance company or reply to emails after 6 months of trying. When I asked the Dr on one of the first visits how he was doing he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Maybe this place is ok to get glasses but should be removed from the medical insurance plans if they do not want to comply with the agreement. Learn from my mistake of trusting this place. Snake oil.
Eye therapy program always repeats accomidating rock. Dr Marc H. Sherman won't change to more advanced. Lazy Dr.
I suffer from a few different eye issues, including rather severe strabismus. This wandering of my eyes is readily noticeable by other people, and results in double-vision which affects my quality of life (especially in the realm of driving, it can be very worrisome, and has forced me in the past to drive with one eye closed). Dr. Sherman's vision therapy is expensive, but it is very effective in giving me the ability to overcome these symptoms. When I consider that the alternative would be surgery, I am all the more grateful for this alternative. Vision therapy addresses the root cause of my strabismus- the brain not properly integrating the visual information from both eyes- and the only side effect is a lighter pocketbook. Whereas surgery would involve great risks, and it doesn't address the 'brain problem,' but merely mutilates perfectly healthy eye muscles to bring about a cosmetic result. And it's still expensive! In conversation with Dr. Sherman, I can tell that he knows what he's talking about, both academically and through his experience. I would recommend him to anyone who might have a vision problem beyond simple near or farsightedness!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
