Wish all Orlando health facilities would be as good in every aspect as South Seminole has always been. I've been in their care in several occasions in the last 30 years!

Spouse was admitted via the ER for mental health issue. ED is A++, however mental health department needs reorganization and resources. The 3 times my spouse was admitted she was in full blown psychosis, the most recent admission they wanted to discharge same day, I had to convince to hold her longer due to her symptoms and safety. A day and half after she is being discharged, no real discharge planning, no referral for OP treatment or therapy just sent her home and good luck. She returned home in continued psychosis that deteriorated critically within 6 hours of discharge. As a professional nurse I find this inexcusable. I understand the stress, short staffing and overflow, given COVID and increased mental health needs, but you do not discharge a patient with those active symptoms. There is a lot of opportunity to provide for this community, but admin needs to wipe the slate clean and revamp the psych department.Being fairly new to the area we were recommended another hospital in Orlando for which I had to take her to get admitted same day of her discharge, thus far a much greater experience.

Worst staff and experience since living in Central Florida. We will never return here and do everything in our power to avoid this place again. Communication was non-existent, doctor not availed to speak with, nurse disorganized and failed to pull all previously provided material in front of her. This hospital cares about getting funds from insured and getting you out of their hair.
