Gregory M. Benedict, MD - South Florida Orthopedics: I have a 10 disc spine fusion, have had 7 spine surgeries and have lost 5 inches in height. Due to these issues, finding a knowledgeable and professional pain doctor was of the utmost importance to me when I moved from the Charlotte area, where I had been with a great pain management medical group for 15 years. I was worried and spent a lot of time researching the pain doctors in the Treasure Coast area and my intensive search led me to Dr Gregory M. Benedict with the South Florida Orthopaedic Group. Besides Orthopaedic's, Dr Benedict has extensive training in pain management and I truly do not believe that there is a better pain doctor, than Dr Benedict in all of the Treasure Coast. He is professional, no nonsense, inquisitive and a truly caring doctor and when he accepted me as a patient, I was extremely pleased. Without reservation, I highly recommend Dr Gregory M. Benedict. He is in the Tradition area, South Florida Orthopedics, just past the Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

Dr. Benedict has been helping my mother with her pain from arthritis. He is caring and gentle yet professional.

Oct. 8th, 2021 - Reviser Posting I have today discovered that my judgment of doctor Gregory Benedict and the five star rating I posted on Healthgrades was in error. At this moment I am in too much pain to explain the details but hope to do so in a later posting. I no longer would recommend this doctor to anyone, as I now believe he has much to learn regarding both his judgment and in being honest and forthright with his patients. I find it somewhat ironic that Immediately following my positive review 3 months of my life have unnecessarily been lost to pain and misery. At 81 years of age, those months cannot be recouped. I sincerely apologize to anyone who my original posting may have misled.

Left my sixth appointment in tears. Dr. Benedict has failed to try and listen. Stares at his computer the entire time and doesn’t ever look you in the eye. He has treated me for pain that was not the issue that I came to his office in the first place. So my pain has continued to get worse and I ended up in the ER finally getting a real diagnosis. If I could have had a chance to speak and he had tried to listen I don’t think I would b on my way to surgery now. The billing department has also made huge huge errors and now I have to try to clean up the mess.

Nightmare! First, Dr. Benedict suggested a shot in the butt (for SEVERE shoulder and spinal pain) because he recommended that I see a specific surgical specialist.) Shot did NOTHING...NOTHING AT ALL to relieve the pain AND, in the process of his CNA GIVING me the shot, he STUCK HIMSELF IN THE FINGER ! THEN, I was told by a nurse that, if I wanted, I could JUST go downstairs and have my blood drawn TO PROVE I DIDN'T HAVE AIDS ...or...he would have to go through a grueling medication regimen, which I SHOULD have done, BECAUSE I had to wait HOURS to have my blood drawn, with only 4 people ahead of me!!! Turned out, I was the last patient of the day. After sitting for what I felt like an ETERNITY, I could barely stand to have blood drawn and leave. They locked the door behind me at closing.

Very satisfied. Relief from pain came quickly.

The doctor never even examined me. He had decided my treatment before even talking to me or reviewing my full record. He did not listen to me and didn’t want to take the time to understand what was going on with my medical condition. When I asked him about filling out continued paperwork for my medical leave he told me “he doesn’t do that” and I need to find a primary care provider. When I told him I don’t have one he just walked out of the exam room. I would not trust my care going forward with him.

He is wants to find the best solution to resolve your pain. Takes the time to listen.
