List of Allyson Barnes's Reviews
Dr. Barnes is the best doctor I've dealt with my 27 years of life.
Dr. Barnes always listens to any concerns I may have and explains when I have questions.
My first visit was a very pleasant experience. The accomodations were clean, the receptionist was attentive, the nurse was efficient and I was very impressed with Dr. Allyson Barnes. She listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and provided support for improving my health. In the later visits, the same care was provided. I am always treated as an individual with attentive care. Highly impressed with Dr. Barnes and her team!
Dr Barnes is wonderful. She shows her care and compassion for her patients and takes time to answer questions and hear concerns. Her nurse Alicia is just as kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this practice.
Joke for a doctor
I am an established patient with Dr Barnes. I was sick and called on a Thursday requesting to be seen. The soonest available appt was Monday morning, which I accepted. When the appt was made, I was asked what my symptoms were. During checkin thru Phreesia, I was asked again what my symptoms were. When I arrived Monday morning for my appt, I was asked "this isn't a sick appt for you is it?" I said it was, and the receptionist asked me if I was contagious. I told her that was for the doctor to determine. She offered me a mask which I accepted. Maybe she should have just offered the mask without the questions. Dr. Barnes was polite. I told her my symptoms, she looked in my ears and mouth and said "it's viral" and to let it run its course. I told her I had already been sick for nearly 10 days. She said 'there's no timeframe' for things like this. She also offered no antibiotics or cough expectorant. I completely understand a virus is not curable by antibiotics, and I also understand not wanting to "over prescribe" antibiotics. However, when someone has been sick for 10 days and the electronic medical record clearly shows I haven't been on antibiotics at all for the last couple of years, what possible harm could come from a prescription of amoxicillin or similar? I let her know I was not happy with her decision. She said she wasn't holding out on me or something to that affect, but again - - I feel like she holds the marbles to whether or not it truly is a virus or bacterial infection. So what's the harm? If I was a patient that was constantly sick and periodically on antibiotics, I can understand her judgement. But I let her know that this illness wasn't normal for me at all. She wouldn't budge. I felt like I wasted my time in the office, along with my copayment. Next time I'll go somewhere else.
Dr Barnes was combative and condescending; cut off my conversations at every opportunity; and refused to listen in an impartial manner about the deficiencies of a staff member as a secondary conversation. I wIll be seeking out a different PCP
Getting in to see her took several months. Though she seemed attentive and caring during our initial visit, it was clear after the first visit that this place is a revolving door. I received blood test results that were abnormal and instead of her calling me to explain the results and what can be done (she explained different tests or procedures during our first visit in case my results were abnormal since I told her they might be due to past results), she wrote some notes and had a secretary call me to read them to me. When I had questions the secretary couldn't answer and asked about the tests the doctor originally spoke of during our first visit, the secretary said they weren't in the notes. When I asked if I could have a five-minute call with Dr. Barnes to discuss what we previously spoke of, I was told I needed to schedule a tele-health appointment. Per the secretary, "Dr. Barnes sees thousands of patients. She doesn't have to time to call to discuss results with people." Don't be one out of thousands when it comes to your Primary Care Physician.
Dr. Barnes and her staff were all very friendly and personable. Dr. Barnes was very professional. I enjoyed my visit.
First patient visit with this doctor. I am a current BayCare patient and she took the time to go thru my records and familiarize herself with my medical history. She asked multiple questions, listened to my concerns, and came up with several plans of action. She explained everything and made sure I understood. Wonderful doctor with a caring personality.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
