Dr. Honda was kind and completed the routine surgery successfully, but his billing practices are unacceptable. My wife had an appendectomy and an "in-network" hospital where Dr. Honda was on call. Not once were we told he was not "in-network." He completed the surgery and we never saw him again. 4 months later we have been sent to collections because my our insurance does not want to pay his "out-of-network" which is more than 10 times the insurance "in-network" rate. We were told that since he is not in network and does not contract with ANY health insurance providers that WE would have to appeal to our insurance company to pay more. We have never received a bill, but now our account is in collections for the balance; A practice that will be banned January 1, 2022 when the No Surprises Act (already passed) goes into effect.
