List of Denise Barnard's Reviews
I spent 45 minutes trying to find her office. After arriving a paper sign said she moved to this other address. Once I found the new one the staff was rude and said my appointment was rescheduled to the following month. I never received any email or phone calls to confirm this so called rescheduled appointment. I just wasted 3 hours of my morning.
After leaving your office, since you had no record of my appt., I was hopeful I would receive a phone call from your office, or better yet, from Denise Barnard herself! In my mind that would have been the courteous and professional manner in which to have somewhat appeased me and attempted to rectify an unfortunate and frustrating situation. In reviewing my emails from LifeStance Health, seven in total, my appt. was made almost 3 months ago. Additionally, 3 email appt. reminders were sent for an appt. that obviously didn't exist! The other unnerving and uncalled for mistake is the incorrect office address on your appt. reminder email, was also incorrectly spelled Sterling instead of Stirling. Since this has happened to others, why wouldn't you post a sign on the Stirling door giving the correct office address! I understand you schedule only one new patient per day and that's the reason no appt. was available for a month. No exceptions, please! I guess I'll find someone who cares...
She seemed completely unprepared even though my current psych had sent her all of my information. She told me I had "too many diagnoses" and questioned the validity of one of them despite my having a professional diagnosis and extensive proof of a history of this condition. She also said many factually inaccurate things that led me to feel uneasy in her care: that antipsychotics could not be prescribed for depression, mixing up bipolar and borderline, incorrectly identifying a medication as not an SSRI when the manufacturer's website said it was, etc. I felt unsafe and that she didn't believe most of what I said. Stay away.
Excellent provider. She has helped me manage my anxiety and anger. She listens, and provides feedback to help reduce stressful triggers. I am 43 and have been looking for knowledgable doctor like her.
She is excellent, my family loves her care and compassion
Dr. Barnard is awesome! She helped my family member get on a path to an improved quality of life. When people are faced with mental health challenges and everyday stressors, life, COVID, etc., life can become increasingly more demanding and difficult to cope with and have a sense of normalcy. I am so grateful for her medical expertise and openness. She is an expert and exceptional in her field!
This was the most unprofessional and unethical display of “psychiatry” I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. I sought her help for serious mental issues and failed to fill out forms because I’m experiencing an actual mental crisis, and they cancelled my appointment with no warning and didn’t tell me until I called 20 minutes after my appointment time. I called multiple times to return their earlier phone calls and couldn’t get a hold of anyone to save my life. This is absolutely astounding. Absolutely ridiculous. People come to psychiatrists for help. These people are clearly more interested in making a buck than helping out their patients and thanks to them, I have no one. Do not select this “doctor” if you need someone reliable.
This office is closer to home than Maitland, and I really don't trust the shrink there I got stuck with (Francisco Rodriguez, who is somehow technically a doctor inexplicably) to do more than act as a prescription writing machine, so I figured I'd try switching offices and doctors to Dr. Barnard. Not only did I not even get to see her, the PA I got in the lottery that day was fresh on the job that week. They listened diligently for as long as I had scheduled timewise, but pushed medication over other treatment hard enough for me to cave in out of frustration and disappointment. Hilariously when I cancelled the follow-up they informed me that one would ALSO have been with the PA only, and not the mystical high exalted honorable madam doctor. Such fail. It's not just bad form not being clear about that with patients upfront, it's medically unprofessional. Some people really need the medical professional and not the understudy badly enough that getting less than expected can seriously burn their beans by then having to wait longer to see them.
Dr. Barnard got to the bottom of my issues and I can now work normally and function. Thank you Dr. Barnard for all your years of assistance for me and my family.
Even though now you get more time with your therapist than your psychiatrist, Dr. Barnard took the time to explain to me medications for my condition and the why of what I was going through was happening to me. I highly recommend her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
