Very detailed overview of my condition. Highly experienced and very knowledgeable and very quick in diagnosis. I would strongly recommend but be ready to detail out answers for all of his questions, which in my case helped in quick and accurate diagnosis.

By far the most rude and condescending doctor I have ever been to he told me I look like a person who is blue and weepy
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 26 years and as a nurse and a patient I’ve never met a member of the medical profession that was so rude, condescending, and very unprofessional. He asks a question and is very impatient when the answer is being given. He is very abrasive. I was shocked at his behavior.
I decided to cancel my appointment with Dr Elston because I didn’t want my first rheumatologist to be with a doctor who had mixed ratings. When I cancelled my appointment, I received a call from the staff asking for a video call/telehealth appointment. Which was confusing because I cancelled my appointment the night before. When I stated that I made the choice to not come and didn’t want to come to this doctor because of the reviews, I was told by the staff to “make my own decisions”. I’ve been to enough doctors in the last 8 years with my Crohn’s to know that it’s a good thing I did cancel. That attitude told me everything I need to know.
Abosuletly one of the worst healthcare providers i have ever met. I went with my grandmother to her visit and I really hated the way he spoke to her. He was rude and condescending and talked down to her and I.the only thing bigger than his bank account is his ego. He was so full of himself and just wanted to hear himself speak. He accused her of being non-compliant for not taking out a loan to pay for medications that her insurance won't cover. Then continued to gaslight her by saying OTC vitamins were not effective "show me the research" and then proceeded to tell me she had vitamin d toxicity amd told me she can't take vitamin d when her labs were normal. When we pointed this out he was dismissive and told us she could in fact take them. His office was filthy and he didn't close the door during the exam and medical records are literally scattered all over the floor. I can't believe she has been seeing him for so many years and I will be encouraging her to be treated elsewhere.
My primary care physician recommended Dr. Elston, and I found him to be helpful, very knowledgeable, and attentive. He wanted to know everything about my symptoms, ordered necessary tests, and was quick to follow up. He answered the phone himself once when I called! As a retired RN, I also found his office nurse friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend him.
Save yourself the frustration and find another doctor! Don't Go! Unprofessional doc, office and staff.
I had the worst experience of my entire life. I don’t even know how this doctor still practicing medicine. He is by far one of the worst, most unprofessional, unkind, pompous, rude condescending human being I have ever met! . I have been to some of the top rheumatologist in the country and this doctor has a God complex. Treated me less than human. The office is dirty, dingy, and in a bad part of town. I was afraid to even park my car!! He cannot even afford a real staff! as there is one woman doing everything. I am not even sure she is qualified to be taking vitals. The doctor was super discriminatory and treated me very disrespectful. I am in the health field myself, and a professional woman who’s worked in many hospitals and work in the behavioral field. He is obviously not qualified to deal with women and has major issues and I will be reporting him to the board. I lasted 10 minutes speaking to the who doesn’t know what he’s I’ve taken plenty anatomy and physiology and he chose to try to degrade me on my knowledge!!! I literally walked out of the examination room in the middle of him asking me about my history when he continued to rudely interrupt me every five minutes to correct me on my own experiences lol He is a disgrace to the medical community. I can honestly say I have never walked out on a doctor in my entire existence but I could not take it out longer.
Here's the thing, in these reviews people are saying Dr. Jeffrey Elston is rude and speaks to his patients without giving much information, as if he expects them to know medicine, and they aren't wrong, he is kind of a prima dona, but I wouldn't call him rude so much as terse, impatient and demanding, as professors tend to be. You have to remember that foremost he's an academic, a med school professor, rather than a clinician, and he has the mannerisms of a professor, speaks like a professor, and expects people to have the base knowledge to understand him. Fortunately for me I'm a nurse and my husband is a PA so we did understand him. We thought he was rather brilliant, in his own way, and my health was very much improved under his care. When presented with a complicated patient having many complaints, he knew how to prioritize and problem solve. He did diagnostic testing nobody else had bothered to do. He proposed treatment plans others had not thought of, or had been too lax to initiate, and prioritized them. He changed my priorities too, because people have different priorities when they are actively dying than they do when they might continue to live a while. And you know, sometimes your medicine makes you sicker, when you have to take a lot of medicines for a lot of different conditions. He's alert to polypharmacy, which in my case was a large part of the problem. He's good at sorting. Now I have to say, Jan is not famous for answering the phone, but she is kind and friendly and will go to bat for patients. Even months after I was discharged from Dr. Elston's care she still helped Quest Labs figure out what codes they needed to stop making a mess of my bills. Thanks, Jan!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
