List of Jared Gaines's Reviews
Very rude, doesn’t care what anyone has to say including the patient. Aggressive and threatening during conversation. I could not possibly recommend any less.
Dr. Gaines was supposedly my treating physician during my self-referred stay at the Pavilion/JFK in fall of 2014. I checked myself in on a Friday for depression and suicidal ideation. As I was sobbing uncontrollably, I waited for him while he talked with the other patients on the ward, then he walked right by me as if I didn't exist and left. I didn't see him until Monday as I was being discharged. Needless to say, I received zero therapeutic care while I was there - the Pavilion is essentially a holding tank where they max out your insurance and then send you on your way. When I met with him, it was in the courtyard - not even in an office. He stood there intentionally trying to bait me into an argument. I knew enough not to argue back or he would likely find a reason to keep me there for being disruptive or something. I didn't take the bait and thankfully got the heck out of there. It was the most UNTHERAPEUTIC experience of my life. Clearly, I am still traumatized by it as I am writing this review 5 years later! This doctor is a charlatan who just wants to get as much money from you as he can. AVOID him like the plague!
Takes time to explain plan of care. Very Positive attitude and active listening with patient concerns and questions
Dr. Gaines helped us immensely with our Autistic, behavior challenged child. He kept our child away from the harmful medications and had our child on a good regimine. He prepared us so that we could be better parents.
A close minded buffoon. No understanding what being severely depressed is all about. Empathy is useless, like being attended by Mr Rodgers. Overmedicates at the drop of a hat.
He is a wonderful doctor. Don't believe negative reviews . He is intelligent and compassionate. Would highly recommend him. Great psychiatrist and I can truly say he is an amazing doctor. !!
Dr Gaines is an egotistical, terrible psychiatrist who thinks he knows it all. He has little respect for his patients safety or for the educated opinions of staff. Wouldn’t recommend him for anyone struggling with mental illness.
My wife's insurance covered Dr Gaines on an outpatient basis only she went to see him after a complete mental breakdown spent 5 days in the hospital prior to seeing him he was all very happy about how happy he was going to make her feel. Dr. Gaines reminds me of Doogie Howser he is a young thinks he knows it all and when it comes to a diagnosis on a form for the insurance company he called you in to put your own diagnosis down and asks what you want him to say. My mission is 2 C him gone.
It is shocking to see how poorly Dr Gaines treated our son. His apparent lack of effort or desire to assist left me wondering why he was even in the medical field. The comments that he made and the decisions that he reached put our son at risk. This simply leads me to believe that he either has no idea of what he is doing or he simply does not care. Our son needed his help and Dr. Gaines discharged him long before he should have.
I took my wife with me to be counseled by this doctor due to lack of libido. By the time the session was over, I felt attacked and she felt justified in her lack of sexual response. He recommended counseling at 300 dollars and hour and explained that due to the price, you should make sure you get something out of the sessions. Previously I had mentioned my marital situation to Dr. Gaines and he seemed understanding, but when faced with my wife, he obviously took her side and left me out.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
