List of Val Sheffield's Reviews
Dr. Sheffield is a wonderful doctor. I always knowI'm getting the best care for myself and my loved ones. She's truly been a blessing to myself and my elderly family members, especially my beloved mother. I highly recommend her, regardless of age.
She saw my elderly Mother in Law in he ER in Panama City after she had fallen on the point of her hip. She could not walk or move her left leg. The x-ray report stated that the femoral next had a defect indicative of a fracture of the femoral neck. She discharged my MIL with no mention of the x-ray report without even bringing in and Orthopedist for a 2nd opinion. 5 days later she still can’t walk. Luckily she was able to get into an orthopedist on short notice and and they confirmed the fractured femoral neck and she had surgery the next morning, which the surgeon said should have been done the night she was in the ER. Dr. Sheffield’s negligence almost caused my MIL to need a hip replacement. She should not be seeing peoples loved ones and allow this kind of treatment to continue. I will be speaking to administrators at he hospital to take this to the next level.
She saw my elderly Mother in Law at the ER in Panama City after she fell on her hip. X-ray report indicated a fracture of the femoral neck. MIL was discharged with no mention of possible fracture. 5 days later she still could not walk or bear weight on her leg. After 6 days she was able to get in to an Orthopedic Surgeon on short notice and they confirmed the fracture and indicated that the injury should have been fixed immediately. She had surgery the next morning after her visit to the surgeon and luckily did not need a hip replacement. Dr. Sheffield should have referred this to the Orthopedic Dr. on call for a 2nd opinion right away. Her negligence has caused my MIL and extra week of pain and could have caused more serious consequences. I’ll be speaking to hospital administrators about this.
Probably the absolute best Dr around, with the sweetest staff ever.
She is a very caring doctor. She also has a clinic in Chipley that is pay as you can. When i lost my job and had no insurance i will go there
She's an excellent Dr.. super nice , sweet highly educated. She was working at gulf coast er one day when I had to be seen. Wish her practice was closer to PC . She would gain a new patient for sure.
The best Dr. In Jackson county....Love her!
Awful
She is great. Has taken great care of my family for years. She sees my children, wife, myself, my parents, and my wife’s parents. She knows her stuff and tells it like it is. She really cares. Highly recommend her.
HORRIBLE!!!!!! Walked in like a zombie, had a nasty attitude as if i was bothering her by being ill. i was suffering from a terrible migraine, and at first she recommended that i have a CT scan, I was self pay and the moment she realized I didn't have insurance she wrote me a prescription for Tylenol and sent me on my way. Maybe spent 10 mins max in the building. Not a care in the world. Then I get a huge bill for her "evaluation" really poor demeanor, and service. She should not be a doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
