Maybe he was having a bad day but it seemed like I was bothering him. Not very friendly

I was misdiagnosed by this Dr. Even though I had an MRI report that showed a rotator cuff tears he said I had a frozen shoulder. I was shocked because after seeing another Dr. I was told there was no evidence of a Frozen Shoulder.

In December I had surgery for a tore miniscus. Dr. Dejong's explanation and confidence put me at ease and my recovery was quick without any complications. I would highly recommend Dr. Dejong.

Would recommend him to anybody vey caring did my complex torn meniscus surgery

Dr DeJong and his staff are amount the very best, every appointment has been on time and stress free, extremely informative and executed with compassion. Surgery was totally successful, recovery has been fairly easy with no need for any pain medication stronger than ibuprofen...sign of an amazing surgeon. I highly recommend Dr DeJong and his staff.

Had surgery to repair a torn meniscus: Dr. Dejong was referred by a friend. He and his staff were great. Appointments were always on time. Very responsive, took plenty of time to explain everything. Post surgery was the same. Knee is heeling quite nicely. I would not hesitate to recommend this surgeon.

Dr. DeJong and staff exceeded all expectations. I couldn’t be happier with my outcome. My surgery was 10 days ago. While reading the one bad review here (the one I can see) I wonder how my review would be had my surgery not have been as successful as it was. I would hope that I could give the same reply, but human nature to disappointment being what it is? My torn meniscus surgery went above all hopes, I am rapidly approaching 60 years old and my recovery is, according to Physical Therapy, way ahead of schedule for my age group. I have had no pain post-surgery that is worse than before the surgery. My tear was on the inside of the interior meniscus and created a flap that was sticking out or “flipped”, and the pain was debilitating for a while. Post-surgery consultation was much easier to understand than the pre-surgery. I assume that was because the MRI showed the problem, but not the extent of the problem.(and that I am not a doctor) Also, pictures taken during surgery helped, and a post-surgery drawing of the “flipped” tear from Dr. DeJong’s notes made things perfectly clear. On a side note, the Same Day Surgical Center staff was great. I had a long wait and they did a great job of noticing my needs. I have a light sensitivity and it was noticed and they offered to turn the lights off over me. I was supporting my head with a book and the Anesthesiologist walked by and offered to get me a pillow. While small things, I was impressed more by the fact that he did not delegate the job, he brought the pillow back himself. Again, my surgical results are mine, and not everyone will be so lucky. In the hands of skilled people (and these are VERY skilled people) Doctors can do amazing things, but not all injuries can be repaired. I read the negative review a few times and what stands out is this “After seeing several specialists” I can only assume this to mean that this person is not hearing what he or she “wants to hear.” The line between hope and despair not one you will see until after you have crossed it. This is a very skilled group and I am pleased to recommend them to anyone.

My son is a student at FIT and suffered a lateral meniscus tear; Dr. DeJong was referred to us by the medical trainer. In a time like this you hope that the referral is a good one and that you will be taken care of. Dr. DeJong and his entire staff were incredible! They treated my son so well, made us feel very comfortable, explained the procedure before and after to us in a way that we could understand, and have followed up with him routinely. We could not have asked for a better doctor, staff or facility. We are very happy with the outcome and would refer Dr. DeJong to anyone needing a good ortho surgeon. If I could give 6 Stars I would!

Got my first appt quickly and have surgery scheduled soon. Dr and staff were really nice.
