I had the worst patient experience of my medical journey. • This appointment today 6/22/21 was scheduled over a month ago. Only yesterday Ursula from the office called and asked me about any records from previous cardiologists. I saw the cardiologist Dr. Gadodia almost 10 years ago. The copay for a test was $300 and I did not have the funds. I was discharged from his practice. I saw a cardiologist - Dr. Bean - once on January 30, 2019 while at Holmes Regional Hospital. I was never his patient. I was never seen in his office. I was never discharged as a patient. On Monday - less than 48 hours before my appointment with Dr. Zavitsanos - I was contacted about records from previous cardiologists. Not enough time for me to acquire anything. Today, I filled out the 6+ pages of new patient forms. An RN came out to have me come back to an examining room. I am a dialysis patient, use a wheelchair when being transported to appointments and dialysis. I cannot use my hands because of severe neuropathy. The nurse expressed her annoyance at having to push me to the room. "You need to bring your aide next time." I don't have family or an 'aide' to accompany me places. She was greatly displeased. So, the RN does my vitals and goes over my medications. She then says that someone will come into do an EKG. She comes back in and says Dr. Zavitzanos is 'declining to see me.' When I asked for an explanation, she said hd didn't need to say why but finally she tells me that I was discharged by two previous cardiologists. Not even true. This appointment is one of several crucial appointments required for me to send in my application for a living donor kidney. Back to the drawing board. Already called my primary doctor to get me into another cardiologist.
