They do not care about you after surgery. After being an inpatient overnight, I called three times to try to get some sort of explanation of what occurred during surgery and help with the pain but no return call. DO NOT LET THIS DOCTOR DO SURGERY ON YOU if you want a doctor that will care about your recovery and actually telling you what happened during surgery. I found out from the nurse at the 2 week checkup that the surgery was different than we first discussed.

My husband and I went to see him November 3, 2022. My GI doctor had referred us to him. I needed to have surgery for GERD and Hiatal Hernia repair. I was in really bad pain. When we saw him he wanted to schedule me to have a few tests done. First one was a Motility test and then another endoscopy, which I had just had one done with my GI doctor. What bothered us was his attitude. There was no urgency to get me in right away to get these tests done, knowing that I was in so much pain. First test would have been mid December and second towards the end of December. His attitude was, “I know you’re in pain, and the quality of life is not that great for you, but you’ll have to wait”. Really? In 2019 I had my gallbladder taken out at that same place. They had the record showing my gallbladder was taken out, but they didn’t have on record who the surgeon was. I Went back to my files I had at home and Dr. Tieu was the one who did it. Didn’t expect him to remember me, but not to have record that he was the surgeon who took out my gallbladder. I have gone to another surgeon and had my surgery already and I’m feeling great!

Doctor Kenneth Tieu was very kind, considerate, and incredibly accommodating, plus, he performed truly outstanding work. He coordinated with Dr. Aimee Tieu so I could have both operations done at the same time! Which was efficient and helped so much! This way I could get everything done in one swoop. He is amazing and performs phenomenal work!!! He is kind and also very professional. I'm so grateful to him and his wife, they are the BEST team! I could not ask for more. If I ever need anything he specializes in ever again, he will certainly be who I go to. No doubt about it.

To begin, Dr. Tieu saved my life from a rupture in appendix, which turned out to be a tumor. I feel honored to have Dr. Tieu as my surgeon operate on me and give me a better quality of life. Every single member of his staff has given me and treated me with dignity and respect. I wish there were more kind and caring doctors just like him and Dr. Allison that I actually listen to you and form a treatment plan and go from there. Thank you Doctor. Tieu.

Dr Teui was supposed to be the doctor to save my life and fix my stomach and hernia after waiting 3 mos for surgery 48 hours before surgery wanted yet another test,heart stress test-passed. What dr teui did realize was my condition worsened a whole lot in the last 4 weeks. Then while trying to reschedule surgery Refused surgery because he didn’t like my husband? I am in terrible need of this surgery and I am so blown away with this doctors behavior that I am having to plead help from anyone that is a surgeon. I don’t like this nor is this the way a patient should be treated. University of Texas and Vanderbilt really wanted me to come so they can help. I don’t have money left because I spent it thinking dr teui would save my life. I am a 60 year old woman so I guess I am out of luck. No advice for anyone because of the obvious reasons.

Fantastic surgeon with great quality metrics. In a quiet restaurant he and Dr. Allison acted like it was their personal fraternity party. Loud, inappropriate, obnoxious.
