List of Kindred Hospital Melbourne's Reviews
It's true that often, some of the most important players in a process are seldom able to see the impacts of the entire process they played a part in. It happens in finance and mortgages all the time (where I spend my career work hours), and I imagine it's no different in a system as complicated as Healthcare. Kindred Hospital and it’s team of amazing real life hero’s saved my husband’s life, literally! That may sound dramatic, but there is no other way to describe it. These folks assist people in ways I rarely am able to see, they deal in real life and death healthcare issues. They are integral to one of the few things in a person's life that rivals their home - their Life and Health.I can now look back over the last 5 months and share with you how the hard work, diligence, kindness, expertise and knowledge of the Doctors, Kindred Executive Team, nurses, lab techs, pharmacy workers, Environmental, CNA’s, Respiratory Therapists, Dietary, X Ray Techs, Speech Therapist, OT and Physical therapists played a personal role in saving the life of my husband of 40 plus years. To name just a few; Dr. Patel and Dr. Mohd, Dr Mehta, Dr Mateos Mora, Dr. Elmegraby, Pamela Reed, Laura Burke, Jennifer Tomazinis, Kristin Dolan and many many more. If you have a loved one who needs their services, I 100% recommend!
If I could rate 0 starts I would.. this place is HORRIBLE. My boyfriends uncle that we lived with and provided care to for over 4 years was here for 2 months and his health declined FAST in just those short 2 months. He developed so many infections that he had never had before. We would ask questions when the nurses came in the room and they didn’t even know the answers.. they couldn’t even tell us what was going on with his health and they didn’t even bother to tell us his health was as bad as it was until the day he was in a coma. The nurses he had the day he passed were the nicest most knowledgeable nurses we met the entire time he was there. this is NOT how healthcare should be.
Kindred was the blessing or family needed after my mom suffered two strokes while beating treated for leukemia at Holmes. She was transferred there to continue her recovery. The hospital staff was kind and attentive. The small things went a long way like her milk on ice so it was cold when it got to her. The PT and OT staff were amazing! She was not doing very well when she got there. Even her spirit was dim. She hadn't been able to stand after the second stroke. but with their guidance my mom was able to safely come home to continue her recovery. She is now taking a few steps and gets stronger each day. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at kindred!
Horrible horrible staff!!!!!! From lack of patient care, compassion, empathy, communication, knowledge of patient. Everything about this hospital is horrible. I can't stress it enough get your loved one out of there. They are playing with people lives. No one can ever answer your questions. Just horrible. No matter how much you stay on them they fail miserably. I could write an essay
My father was a patient here a few months ago and the staff was extremely kind. At times like every hospital nowadays they was short staffed but everyone worked as hard as possible. Hands off to healthcare workers at every hospital however a special salute to the staff at this hospital. Thank You all.
My husband was transferred to Kindred Acute Rehab from Melbourne Regional Hospital after a bout with pneumonia and having several falls at home. When he arrived there he could not stand at all. He spent 10 days there and when he left he was on a Walker and able to transfer from the bed to the Walker, walk some steps, sit into a wheelchair then back onto the Walker. He is now at home continuing rehab with Kindred At Home. Thank you for making it possible for me to bring my husband home! I can’t say enough kudos to all the nurses and therapists.
I was a patient there for 4 months I want to thank them all for dealing with me they became like family but I would recommend this hospital to anyone there all life savers
The staff is more concerned with making sure that the # of visitors don't exceed their 2-person limit per room than actually caring for their patients and their needs. When the nurse says they found my relative with their clothes soiled in the morning, you have to wonder how often they are checking in on their patients in the night. Perhaps they are following their rules, but I'd look for care elsewhere.
Doing better every day. Everybody is helpful and knowledgeable. My nurses and therapy people are outstanding.
My 88 year old mother fell and broke her hip. After surgery she went to another rehab hospital in the area. After 4 days she ended up back in the hospital due to a mishap with her medication. We heard of Kindred’s new rehab unit. It was a God send. The entire staff was so nice. They treated my mom like family as well as the rest of my family when we came to visit. I can not say enough good things about the rehab unit. Everyone involved in my mom’s care went above and beyond. PT, OT, Nursing staff, Dietician, Social Worker, Doctors even the girl that came in to clean. Marie, the supervising nurse, checked us in from the hospital and we immediately knew we were in the right place for my mom’s care and recovery. I would highly recommend the rehab unit. It is small, only 11 beds. I believe that is why it was so great for my mom. She had so much individual attention. They respond quickly to their patients and work as a team. It was a great experience! On behalf of the entire Buckingham family…THANK YOU!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
