Great surgeon, professional office staff, and treated condition with great care and concern. Highly recommend!

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS review and avoid this practice at all costs. I am suffering from gallbladder stones and had surgery scheduled for 7/20/23. The weeks prior to the surgery I was back and forth with his office verifying insurance (which I have and covers this surgery). They kept saying they are getting stuck on hold so I would call myself and confirm the number and call them back with the number and name of person to speak with. They finally stopped calling me so assumed they had this resolved. The day before the surgery I am told they are switching me to self-pay since they didn't verify the insurance and that I had to show up in the am with $16000. I called the number again for insurance and provided it to this person. She later called my back saying they verified it but I had 70% coverage and would have to pay 30% (also not true and confirmed by my insurance last night). The negotiated insurance rate for the surgery was $53,000 and I would be on the hook for about $16,000. Ironic huh? The same amount of self pay. I called back again and my insurance said they did not say this- they said they cover the 70% and 30% needs to be submitted for cash benefits for services rendered. All pretty standard stuff.When I called the office back (around 4:30 they had left for the day) so I called to see if I was still on the schedule. When I arrived they told me I needed to pay the $16,000. I told them the story and an admin walked over and said the surgery was already cancelled and the physician is aware. I am looking into what could be done but this is the opposite of patient care and you should avoid this practice at all costs.

Reference to Doc Mitral when you are asked to leave a comment regarding your personal experience with this doctor and it's outcome of his medical performance and his office staff it means just that. You experienced Dr.Allison after hours on his own time and still decided to leave a review on how you felt his behavior was I believe you said grotesque. His after hours time has nothing to do with his professional ethics at his work. You making comments on two physicians has nothing to do with the reviews of that practice or how he is while he is practicing. I am definitely sure you are not a model citizen 100% of the time and I am also absolutely positive this has absolutely nothing to do with who he is as a physician. No one cares how he acts when he is not taking care of patients that is for certain. Reviews are for the business at hand not for bashing of his off time. Everyone is guilty of such banter in one way or the other so comments like this is just not warranted but I can bet you do this to everyone but yourself 🤔

Dr Allison did a wonderful job removing my gallbladder. The incisions were tiny, the stitches are barely seen. They were glued shut. Everything went very smooth from the day of surgery to the 3 week checkup. Such a wonderful doctor and the office staff. 10/10

Dr Allison is a excellent Surgeon, he doesn’t rush your recommended surgery. Instead he takes the time to explain the surgery and other options available, as well as the benefits of each one compared to another. His staff is awesome and I had all testing done at Health First in Palm Bay and at each one of the three their treatment of me was wonderful.

Dr Allison helped me when I was having trouble swallowing and eating. I had lost about 60 lbs. My first conversation with him was over the phone. He listened, asked questions and assured me that he could help. His manner was warm, friendly and professional. My surgery went well, I was extremely pleased with the doctor, the staff and the results. I have recommended him also to someone that he helped and did not have to do surgery on.
